TBN Trinity Broadcasting Network

Love one another

"For the Love of many will grow cold." This is one of the warnings Jesus spoke on that will be common place in the end of time. The very opposite of what he said we should be like to show the world we are his people. John 13:34-14:1"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another." By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

One of the main promoters of this love is by the TBN. But the love they are presenting has its conditions. While we can commend the Crouch's for their intentions of spreading the gospel, something has certainly gone awry in its demonstration.

The southern California based Trinity broadcasting was founded in 1973  by Paul Crouch with the best intentions of spreading the gospel. Today it has grown to a worth of approximately 2 billion dollars and the largest religious broadcasting recently passing the 1000th station mark.

Over time there have been many guests and hosts that have brought what seems at best confusion to the body of Christ. Out of love and care for the doctrine of Christ and the sheep many have voiced their objections and spoken out on the numerous teachers featured on the TBN programming. They have taken it very personally and the backlash has been to criticize back those who speak out on their favorite teachers disregarding the content of the issues. These same people never seem to have anything to say about the harsh things said from their teachers who are guests. If someone points out something questionable or outright false we should be able to receive it no matter who said it. Instead many teachers who call themselves anointed ones (Christ's) say that one cannot say anything about their teaching but they have free reign to say whatever they want back. We need to question what kind of a Spirit not only rejects correction but will lash back with the most insidious remarks of threats on peoples lives and ministries that are in the body of Christ. No one has any right to threaten or condemn anyone to hell even if they disagree. And while many say they must go to the person first, I don't see this at all happening from those who are being called out to answer for their teachings. None of them look to find those who challenge them, and sit down to work things out. I find them saying they will not pay attention or give them the time of day.

Here are the quotes from those who are being discerned as promulgating false teaching. Ask yourself have you ever heard those who question their teachings to say such things? Do those who ask about what is being taught have the same attitude. How do you feel about people who have loose tongues not only about teaching but toward their brethren that is only trying to protect the unwary.

Paul Crouch who wants unity with all churches as a public example of Christ voiced his heart on TV and went after those who have been calling and writing in questioning what is being hosted.

"I say, ‘Get out of God's way, quit blocking God's bridges (which appears to be his Church ecumenism.); or God is going to shoot you if I don't.’"

"I think God's given up on a lot of that old rotten Sanhedrin religious crowd, twice dead, plucked up by the roots. I think they're damned and on their way to hell and I don't think there's any redemption for them...the heresy hunters that want to find a little mote of illegal doctrine in some Christian's eye and pluck that little mote out of their eye when they've got the whole forest in their own lives and in their own eyes. I say to hell with you! Oh hallelujah. Get out of God's way, quit blocking God's bridges or God's gonna shoot you if I don't! I refuse to argue any longer with any of you out there. Don't even call me. If you want to argue doctrine, if you want to straighten out somebody over here, if you want to criticize Ken Copeland for his preaching on faith, or Dad Hagin. Get out of my life! I don't even want to talk to you or hear you. I don't want to see your ugly face! Get out of my face in Jesus' name." ("Praise-a-thon" on TBN, 4/2/91)

Paul Crouch : "We gotten so caught up in theology and debating and discussing theology and nit picking on this, and the heretic hunters have smokescreen the whole thing." (The Christian Channel Europe "Praise The Lord" 14/6/98)

Paul Crouch has said "Let Him (God) sort out all this doctrinal doo-doo, I don’t care about it." Crouch has distanced himself from all the kooky things said under the name of the Lord by his guests,  allowing those who buy air time or as guests to say whatever they want. Not once have I ever heard a challenge or a question on what any of their favorites say.

But if one looks carefully at the Scriptures Jesus and the apostles explain the importance of doctrine

John 7:16-18 Jesus answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. "If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority." He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him." Jesus makes it clear people depart from his teaching boast in themselves, it is motivated by pride and is unrighteous.

John 18:19"The high priest then asked Jesus about His disciples and His doctrine." Its all about who Jesus is and what he taught. We are not talking about side issues but the essence of who Christ is and who we are in relationship with him.

John who is known as the apostle with great love said "WHOSOEVER ABIDETH NOT IN THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST HATH NOT GOD  (2 Jn. 1:9) Doctrine is important and if ignored or allowed to be molded into a  new interpretation and can remove someone from walking with Christ. This is why Paul said,  "That you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine." (1 Tim.1:3). "Mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them." (Rom. 16:17)

Because  there is an intentional avoidance of discerning correct doctrine and judging what should not be presented, just about anything is.

Benny Hinn: Benny Hinn: "Jesus Christ destroyed the power of Satan on earth, but destroyed Satan in the under world, the Holy Ghost wasn’t there.

Paul Crouch: "That’s when His divinity returned."

Think about that." Yes think about that, the Bible says He conquered Satan on the Cross Col.2:14-15 nowhere does Scripture say what Hinn states. Implication= Col.2:14-15 is incorrect as well as other Scriptures. The cross is mocked and the purchase of salvation is placed on another event.

Another time Paul Crouch in a conversation with Kenneth Copeland: "He doesn’t ever draw a distinction between himself." (Jan Crouch agreed as well.)

Kenneth Copeland: "Never, never. You never can do that in a covenant relationship."

Paul Crouch: "You know what else that settles then tonight. This hue and cry and controversy that has been spawned by the devil to try and bring dissent within the body of Christ that we are gods. I am a little god."

Kenneth Copeland: "Yes, yes!"

Paul Crouch: "I have His name. I’m one with Him. I’m in a covenant relationship. I am a little god."

Kenneth Copeland: "Critic, you are anything that He is."

Implication= we are exactly like Jesus, we are little Gods despite Jesus never said such a thing.

Crouch has approved of Hinn's teaching on this as well. When you say, 'I am a Christian,' you are saying, 'I am mashiach,' in the Hebrew. I am a little messiah walking on earth, in other words. That is a shocking revelation. ...May I say it like this? You are a little god on earth running around" (Praise-a-Thon, TBN, November 6, 1990)

Kenneth Copeland: "I was shocked when I found out who the biggest failure in the Bible actually is."

Paul Crouch: "Okay."

Kenneth Copeland: "You know everybody you ask, you say, ‘Who’s the biggest failure?’ They say, ‘Judas.’ Somebody else will say, ‘No, I believe it was Adam.’ Well, how about the devil?"

Paul Crouch: (amazed.)

Kenneth Copeland: "He’s the most consistent failure . . . but he’s not the biggest in terms of material failure and so forth. The biggest in the whole Bible is God. . . . Wait, wait. Don’t you turn that set off. You listen to us. I told you. . . . Now, you sit still a minute. You know me well enough to know I wouldn’t tell something I can’t prove by the Bible.

"He lost His top ranking of most anointed angel, the first man He ever created, the first woman He ever created, the whole earth and all the fullness therein, a third of the angels at least. That’s a big loss, man! I mean you figure up all of that, that’s a lot of real estate, gone down the drain.

"Now, the reason you don’t think of God as a failure, He never said He’s a failure. (Paul Crouch and others laughing on the set.) And you are not a failure until you say you are one." ("Praise-a-Thon" program on TBN [April 1988.)

Implication= God couldn't control heavenly and earthly events, he failed but we don't think this way because he never admitted it!

Crouch allows others to proclaim Jesus is not God, yet will agree with Copeland we are little gods!

Joseph Good: "Yeshua (Jesus), we do not see as being God when He walked here on earth. We see Him as a man."

Guest: "A man anointed by God."

Joseph Good: "A man anointed by God, sent by God to perform a function. Now, in his resurrection . . "

Guest: "He’s not God."

Joseph Good: "We do not see Him as God. We see Him as a man anointed by God. And that has been restored. There is nothing in the statements of Yeshua, in the statements of the disciples that would cause one to believe that they were proclaiming that He was deity."

Implication= Jesus was anointed just like the prophets and he is no more in nature than man. This is exactly what the many of the cults believe and this is why they are called cults.1 Jn.4:1-3 May I suggest the Jehovah's Witnesses as a place of fellowship for Mr. Good.

Are we who love the Lord and believe he was fully God to just stand idly by as this and many more heresies are proclaimed on his network. That’s exactly what he wants us to do!

Crouch and the supporters of his network do not take people questioning their teachings sitting down, they fight back over the air and rally the listeners around them. They divide the body of Christ with strange teachings and then defend them as well. Then when someone brings this up and the bible is brought in as the measure of truth that person is dismissed as divisive.

After a lawsuit was filed by many stations and controversy was breaking out on all fronts this Prophetic word was received through a TBN employee November 7, 1997.

Paul Crouch "Take authority over the principalities and powers that dare to threaten this ministry. I have raised it up from infancy for My own purposes, saith the Lord. Just as I commanded Ezekiel to prophesy life to dry bones, and they took on life, so I am commanding you to prophesy death to the threats, challenges, and bondage's the enemy has placed on TBN. Command them to cease and desist, and you will see this dilemma die and disappear before your eyes. God, we proclaim death to anything or anyone that will lift a hand against this network and this ministry that belongs to You, God. It is Your work, it is Your idea, it is Your property, it is Your airwaves, it is Your world, and we proclaim death to anything that would stand in the way of God's great voice of proclamation to the whole world. In the Name of Jesus, and all the people said Amen! (Praise The Lord Trinity Broadcasting Network November 7, 1997)

Is this what Jesus meant when he said Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Luke 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

This was not their private opinion but what was done on TV seen by millions including those who are their enemies.

But there is more to this prophesy of 1997

Lord, God, in the Name of Jesus, we proclaim victory over these challenges to the licenses of the TV stations that belong to You, Lord. We proclaim deliverance and victory and release. God, this is Your year of Jubilee and Your year of release and debt cancellation, and we decree it, we proclaim it, we speak it by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, in Jesus' precious Name. "

Now the prophesy "Take authority over the principalities and powers that dare to threaten this ministry. I have raised it up from infancy for My own purposes, saith the Lord.…I have given a period of grace to TBN's enemies and challengers, and I have used the pressure of this long trial to develop character and stamina in you and Jan and those around you who have held up your hands. But it is time to go forward. Speak, declare, prophesy the victory and purpose of God for TBN. No license will be revoked. No station will be shut down.

This is the Word of the Lord.

No station will be shut down. Oh, no,! I am giving into your hand more licenses and more stations even more powerful than those that was threatened by the enemy. "

It seems a collection can make any prophesy come to pass.                                                                But then Jesus speaks again 2 years later and it is the very opposite of Nov. 97

Recently Paul Crouch had this to say about the enemies ( Paul Crouch commenting on Mark Chirronas sermon which was a Rhema word from the Lord) "you have bridged the missing gap in this whole FCC thing…this is the 3rd year in a row we have presented this awesome challenge really to the whole network of TBN. 2 years ago the Spirit of the Lord came down and he allowed me … to do a spiritually important thing that is to forgive my enemies and these competitors. And God knows I did we all didwe prayed for our enemies as Jesus commands us to do but the giving up of the money to these competitors was very grievous to me. Just a few days ago I sent off a huge some of money to one of these competitors and Mark we don't owe that money. ( TBN Aug.3,1999)

Did they pray as Jesus asked? The prayer and prophesy were spiritual threats in November. Today it is completely changed to not be a prophesy of threats but one of forgiveness and willingness to bless their enemies.

On TBN Hinn as a guest with Paul and Jan Crouch  is explaining  about the service the lord had him place blessings and cursings on people. And says "Paul there are people that want to destroy ministries that want to destroy TBN, destroy our ministry, destroy any ministry and every ministry they can…" (Sept. 13 1999) How soon they forget the intimidation and threats they use from the TV set in front of millions who are unsaved.

Benny Hinn who is one of Crouches favorite speakers is constantly allowed to speak threats on the TBN broadcasting, many times in front of him with his approval. All the discerning Christians are doing is acting as Bereans but they are threatened by their biblical activity. Who is really trying to destroy ministries?Lets look at what he has to say.

"Somebody's attacking me because of something I'm teaching. Let me tell you something, brother: You watch it! ...You know, I've looked for one verse in the Bible; I just can't seem to find it. Once verse that said, 'If you don't like them, kill them.' I really wish I could find it! ... Sometimes I wish God will give me a Holy Ghost machine gun; I'll blow your head off" (Praise-a-Thon, TBN, 8th November 1990)

Jms.3:9 with the tongue "we bless our God and father and with it we curse men…"

The same threats are made on TBN and outside the network too. "Now I'm pointing my finger with the mighty power of God on me….You hear this: There are men and women in Southern California attacking me. I will tell you under the anointing now, you'll reap it in your children unless you stop….And your children will suffer. You're attacking me on the radio every night- you'll pay and your children will. Hear this from the lips of God's servant. You are in danger. Repent! Or God Almighty will move His hand. Touch not my Anointed…." (World Charismatic Conference, 7th August 1992.)

I Jn 4:20-21 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

"You have attacked me, your children will pay for it." (TBN, October 23rd, 1992.) did Paul, Peter or Jesus ever say these kind of things, of course not. So what did they say? I Jn 3:18 "My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth."

John addresses hate in your heart, so does Jesus.
Matt 5:43-44 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

I Jn 3:10 Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

Proverbs 10:11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.'It is one thing to question teaching even if one is wrong but is doing in it in sincerity. It is a whole other thing to bully people and point fingers at them threatening their innocent children.

Benny Hinn" That got me so angry- if I could have killed him, I would have" (Orlando Christian Centre, Aug 12th 1992)

This is not unusual since Hinn teaches "You don't know the Scriptures! You forgive them only when they know not what they do…I pray that in my own prayer time; I said, 'Lord, don't forgive them, let 'em have it'"

Peter who was anointed says in 1 Peter 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but on the contrary blessing; "

I Jn 3:14-15 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

It has become obvious (at least for those who follow the word of God and not men's words) that the people who lash out because they are question know they cannot defend their position so they get in the flesh (assuming that they ever were in the Spirit.) The challenges will not stop because the tide of voices are rising and will NEVER go away until they sit down with those who have questions and can give substantial proof that what they say is true.

The "love" that is being promoted is not gentleness, kindness and forbearance towards other church members, certainly not toward their opponents in doctrine! It is a love based on taking sides, one of unity and whoever is not for them is against them and opened to be threatened and mocked. If true Christianity was being experienced, the work of the Holy Spirit would change the nature of people to be kind and yielding being open for discussion, they would contend for the faith (Jude 3). The fruit of the Spirit would be demonstrated: love, kindness, patience, goodness and self-control. But we see the opposite affect, they turn into aggressive, prideful manipulators who have no patience for anyone who does not like what they have to say, they tolerate no opposition There is no yielding to having a meaningful dialogue to make peace and be open to correction or explain what is said or done. There is something very unkosher going on! I think it is more saddening to see the carnal reaction in public than even the threats to the individuals.

This is the Christianity they want the people to accept, to not question anyone or anything, to respect those who have the most advertising on TV despite their teachings and of course contribute to be blessed of God. I say this not to be an enemy but in the love of the truth.

My prayer for the Crouch's and all the others involved...
Phil. 1:9-10 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,"
