The NEW Mars Hill

The fantasy that’s some are trying to have as reality is that we live in a world where everyone knows God, as He is the God of every culture.

We have a revival of inclusivism, syncretism that goes beyond the emerging church. Is anyone noticing this?

The point I’m making is that a delusion is the norm and the truth is becoming rare, very rare. Anything that sounds good, that appears to work and is conducive is accepted, especially if one has some statistics or an experience with it.

Roman Catholicism, the Pope says Islam worships the same God they do, does Israel believe this? Does Islam believe this? NO! They speak nonsense.

Saying the god[s] of myths sent the Son as Richardson and kikawa sayis disturbing. Is this now acceptable? Can evangelicals believe this? We do not receive truth from myths as Joseph Campbell had taught.

Acts 17:18 “Then certain Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, "What does this babbler want to say?" Others said, "He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods," because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection.” Not their God but some God they did not know.

Acts 17:23 "for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:

Without knowing- agnoeo from 1 (as a negative particle) and 3539; not to know (through lack of information or intelligence); by implication, to ignore (through disinclination):

Meaning the one they do not know, not understand, unknown. We know this is what it means because of their reaction to Paul

Acts 17:30-33 "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent," because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead." And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, "We will hear you again on this matter." So Paul departed from among them."

What Paul of telling them they do not know God is no longer the way to evangelize. Instead the new way is to t tell them their god is God as they understand Him.

The Bible says of Jesus in Acts 4:12, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Either this statement is true or it is not. If it is correct, then other religions beliefs cannot be the way to God. If Jesus was wrong, then people have been deceived by Jesus for 2,000 years and no one should even use his teachings, because its not true. But the fact is – his teachings are the truth, they alone give life to a dying soul.

1 John 5:12 says, "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” If the Son they speak of is not of Mary’s virgin birth, through him being a son of the Hebrews, then it is not the same Son of God.

This is very serious problem we have. Most people may not understand the seriousness of introducing other gods names and the implications of this.

Hananim, Shang ti etc. are not real gods, they can’t do a thing. Hananim is a foreign god to God, to Israel and to the early church.

This is like giving a gold painted coin and saying it’s just like the real gold coin, because on the outward it looks the same. Like any counterfeit in currency anyone knows there is the genuine and the fraud.

Is the Lord Jesus another god of a culture like Hananim? Did these other gods send Jesus to earth? Can Jesus say I and Hananim are one? This is not evangelism but Cultural religious syncretism. A mythical God, one who does not exist sent the son?

What of Allah. We are told Allah is the same God of Christianity. Can Jesus say I and Allah are one?

Is Allah the god of Israel? He does not think so. We are told Allah is just a generic name for God. In the Muslim shahada it states “there is no ilah but Allah.” We are to believe this means “there is no God but God!” Think about this, that makes no sense in this liberal interpretation. Its not saying there is no Allah but Allah. Allah is used as a specific identification of the God off Mohammed. Not until recently did anyone ever entertain he is the God of Israel.

Then we can call on all these names of the different gods and call them all the same God? Which same god?

Maitreya says he is the Christ of all religions, is this not the same as saying Jesus is the son of all the nations gods?

Christianity is not just a name of a religion but a way of life.

Kerr, who has a child with actor Orlando Bloom, during an interview with the Telegraph in May, telling the outlet that she is not a Buddhist, as some have claimed. “I’m not Buddhist. I’m Christian. I pray every day.” “I meditate every day and I do yoga. I’m not religious, I’m spiritual. And praying is something my grandmother taught me as well. To pray and be grateful, have gratitude, is a big thing for me.”

This is the mindset of so many who consider themselves Christian, they have mixed other religious beliefs and spiritual ideas with Jesus.

When Israel amalgamated with foreign nations they lost their relationship with the Lord, when they adopted their religious beliefs it became Idolatry. This took place as a recent as with the Maccabees whom in 170 BC The Syrian soldiers came into a little town northwest of Jerusalem known as Modiin found a Jewish priest to sacrifice a pig in the temple. He was a Jewish Hellenizer, and was willing to do this. What is a Hellenizer? Those who were willing to absorb  Greek beliefs and culture into Judaism. Hellenizers today take the path of least resistance - we call them today compromisers, Ecumenists, syncretists, Inclusivists. Let this be a forewarning to those who do the same today, this is one of the lesson we learn from the Festival of Chanukah, the Feast of Rededication (Jn.10)

We see the Hellenization of Christianity, by inclusiveness - by speaking other gods names in the sanctuary as if they are the true God. By uniting with other religions ways to worship and their teachings.

The Inclusive Universal God Movement (12 Areas of concern for the Church)

1.    Misrepresenting the Nature of God…

2.  Causing Christians to accept and worship the names of other gods... claiming they are Father who sent the Son.

3.  Many Melchizedek’s exist today...   which devalues Christ as the mediator by the Melchizedek priesthood.

4.  Teaching’s built on improper interpretation of Scripture, taking it out of context and having it mean something else.

5.  Subtle yet clear expressions of anti-Semitism…and a new level of Replacement Theology.

6.  Diminished view of the Covenant between God and Israel and the unique importance of Israel.

7.  Don Richardson’s lack of accurate research, embellishment’s and promotes cultures teachings to be Spiritually equivalent with Israel, (an example is: Richardson believes and promotes as true, an account of a so called prophet of the Karen people of Burma that allegedly said that the same God of the bible told him that “He himself loved their people more than any other people group in the world.” (the Bible says Israel is the apple of God’s eye?)

8.    Hidden, secret knowledge of the beginning of God’s creation? Other stories and details given on the first man the flood etc.

 9.  The misuse of general revelation claiming it is salvific. That direct revelation is not absolutely necessary to be saved.

10.  The possibility that the future anti-christ will say to the world that he is the supreme or chief God of all the nations throughout history; The God of all.

11. The tribes (10 are mentioned) Don Richardson promotes these cultures having the Bible but became a lost book (some even before the bible was given) none of the cultures mention the genealogies, the priesthood the tabernacle, the sacrifices. Nothing of Israel. But we are to believe it is the same God.

12.  And probably the most dangerous, is their leading the Church to believe that these cultures Myths have truth and are on the same level with Holy Scripture.

Should we tolerate these other gods as equally valid like Allah, Shang ti, Hananim, Thakur jui, Io.

Some apologists apply their apparent logic to expose tolerance that is obvious in culture but ignore their own participation in religious tolerance that smacks of interfaith. Why is that?

Missiologist Don Richardson has been teaching this kind of inclusivism for nearly 35 years talking folk religions myths and making them equivalent to the truth in scripture. He does this by finding a few similarities, lowering the word of God to their myth, making a common denominator by using their supreme god, a sky god to become the Father of Jesus, thus it is a universal god working through the majority of cultures in the world. Which then denies the exclusiveness - the revelation to Israel as the standard which the Bible clearly teaches. And he disseminates this through YWAM which also embraces inclusivism

Do you agree that one must know the Son to know the Father? Who is the Son?

What of those who are teaching that whole cultures knew God (just as the Hebrews did through Moses) before the gospel came? The god they worshiped is called the true god, he is the father who gave the son. In Hawaii, in Korea, in China etc. Which certainly means that they are all the same God. That’s is inclusivism.

Daniel Kikawa said that God told him to “tell the Hawaiian people that I am the same as their creator God Io. We’re one and the same, that I am Io, the same god.” That they DO know god that “the son of your creator came who made himself known to us Romans 1:20 says and so this is what we bring to them

If Jesus is the son of their creator god [plural] then he is no longer God who became a man as a Jew, you have a different Jesus.

So they went to the Koreans, and said to avoid “some Jewish tribal ethnic God that was limited to the Jewish people” that Hananim, the god they already knew in their culture is god. Then it was not Israel’s God they introduced to the Koreans as evangelists did before them to the nations. This is a God who never said a thing about Israel or prophecy of the coming messiah, how can He be the true God?

Leonard Sweet has written : A globalization of evangelism “in connection” with others, and a globally “in-formed” gospel, is capable of talking across the fence with Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Muslim--people from other so called “new” religious traditions (“new” only to us)--without assumption of superiority and power. (p.130 Quantum Spirituality).

Manly P. Hall, a Mason, wrote: “The true disciple of ancient Masonry has given up forever the worship of personalities .... As a Mason his religion must be universal: Christ, Buddha or Mohammed, the names mean little, for he recognizes only the Light and not the bearer [person] (Lost Keys of Masonry, pp. 64-65, Manly Hall)

Roman Catholic Mother Theresa said 'there are many ways to God': "All is God--Buddists, Hindus, Christians, etc., all have access to the same God” (Dec.4, 1989 Time magazine, pp. 11, 13).

She was only following Vatican II  which teaches that «whatever good or truth is found» in other religions is «given by him who enlightens all men that they may at length have life» (LG 16). (Commission for Interreligious Dialogue PRESENCE AND ACTION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE WORLD AND IN OTHER RELIGIONS Giovanni Cereti)

Hinduism can be described as monotheistic and henotheistic; monotheistic in its belief in one God and henotheistic in that any one God can be worshipped without denying the existence of other forms or manifestations of God. This Hindu concept of divinity is best represented by the ancient Sanskrit hymn, “Ekam sat vipraha bahudha vadanti,”cxxx which means, “Truth is one, the wise call it by many names.”

Madame H. P. Blavatsky:  He is the "Self-manifested;" in short, the "Son of the Father." Crowned with seven dragons, above his statue there appears the inscription Pu-Tsi-K'iun-ling, "the universal Saviour of all living beings."

This is right out of the playbook of the WCC and URI.

In its first statement on evangelism in more than 30 years. "http://www.oikoumene.org/en/resources/documents/wcc-commissions/mission-and-evangelism/together-towards-life-mission-and-evangelism-in-changing-landscapes", called “Together Toward Life: Mission and Evangelism in Changing Landscapes,” emphasizes what speakers called “holistic evangelism."

This document states that “God’s Spirit can be found in all cultures that affirm life.” Which is inclusivism.

Kirsteen Kim, professor of Theology and World Christianity at Leeds Trinity University in the United Kingdom, said the “[Holy] Spirit moves much wider than the Christian community.”

WCC central committee moderator Aram I said in his report to the assembly

The church is called to discern the signs of the ‘hidden’ Christ and the presence of the Holy Spirit in other religions

They believe inter-religious dialogue  helps believers get away from an “exclusivist viewpoint and look at faith in a inclusivist broader perspective.  Isn’t this what we are hearing from the Inclusivists? Don Richardson may not be involved with this directly, but he (and others) are in essence saying the same thing.

Jer. 2:11-13 “Has a nation changed its gods, which are not gods? But My people have changed their Glory for what does not profit. Be astonished, O heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid; be very desolate," says the LORD. "For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns-- broken cisterns that can hold no water.”

So what we have here is Mars Hill in reverse. Instead of one preaching to the people an UNKNOWN GOD they say we bring the God that you have known all along. That is inclusiveness, the merging of what is opposite to be the same as they make the narrow way to be wider’ the broad way that Jesus warned about.
