Pt.2 Biblically What is the sun and moon for?

When God said He created the celestial orbs the sun and the moon they are for signs - for seasons. There are 4 seasons just as there are 7 days to a week.

Gen. 1:14-15 "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons , and for days and years ; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so.

In other words, this is how we measure time. It is said over and over throughout the Scripture

Ps 104:19 “ he appointed the moon for seasons’

Jer. 31:35 “ the LORD, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,

Ps 136:7-9 “To Him who made great lights, For His mercy endures forever-- The sun to rule by day, For His mercy endures forever; The moon and stars to rule by night, For His mercy endures forever.”

Ezek 45:17 Then it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings, at the feasts, the New Moons, the Sabbaths, and at all the appointed seasons of the house of Israel.”

Gal. 4:10 “You observe days and months and seasons and years.”
