p.6 The Pure word of the Bible or the unpure word of faith by faith teachers

What Wommack teaches is better understood as word faith teaching - Unpure Bible teaching. Is everything he says wrong, no of course not. But what is wrong is dangerous. And he is very sly in how he introduces his interpretations in his sermons.

Wommack’s word false faith teaching is further illustrated by stating, “this is where so many Christians are missing it. They know that God can do all of these things, but they don’t think He’s done anything yet. They start from a position of unbelief. They are crossways with the Word of God. In regards to healing, the proper way to do it is to take Proverbs 18:21“Death and life are in the power of the tongue”—and begin to release this power over sickness and disease: “I speak death to this sickness. I curse it and command it to leave. God, I speak the life that You’ve already put on the inside of me. I release it to flow through my body.” This is how you start cooperating with God.”

No, that is not how you start cooperating with God. What we hear from Wommack is I, I, I, not a dependence on the Lord (As previously stated in the article before, you speak - not pray).

Apparently everyone who does not agree with his view is in unbelief on this.

Every word faith teacher uses this Scripture wrong, Wommack included. He claims what they speak will happen, both good or bad. That they control reality by their words. But they never seem to live by this, especially when it comes to money.

Jesus said in Matt.15:18-20 our words show our thoughts. The fruit of our words can do good or harm. Words can hurt ones emotions or build them up, just as our actions can affect someone physically.

Proverbs 18:21 was written by Solomon, who wrote other examples of the tongue and what it can produce. Prov 15:2 The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly,But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.

Prov 15:4A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

Prov 26:28 A lying tongue hates those who are crushed by it, And a flattering mouth works ruin.

Solomon being the king and in his position of his authority he had the power to pronounce death or life (condemnation or a pardon) over his subjects. In the same manner Pilate, the governor of the region said when he spoke to Jesus he has the power of life and death, (Jn.19:11) that what would take place was his decision.

Ps 12:3-4 May the LORD cut off all flattering lips,And the tongue that speaks proud things, Who have said,"With our tongue we will prevail; Our lips are our own; Who is lord over us?"

That is what the word faith teaches on this, Why?

Because God is the only one capable of calling into existence what is not existent (Isaiah 43:10; 44:6, 24). “Calling into existence” is the term used by the Scripture writers to express what the creator can do, the creation of something from nothing, or from our speaking. “God's voice” in creation (in Scripture) represents His ability and authority to create from nothing by his Word. As we see described in to Genesis where God spoke and the physical universe came into being. We creatures can never personally accomplish this, for only God has this ability.

The Bible says in Lam. 3:37-38 "Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, when the Lord has not commanded it? Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that woe and well-being proceed?” Only if something is Gods will can it take place.

But Wommack says we have this authority! That is False.

Wrong from the beginning

Wommack says, “When God created the first man, He said, “Let us make man in our image” (Gen. 1:26). He literally spoke Adam’s body into existence.”

“This entire universe is being held together by the power of God’s words. It was His word that created the earth and every living thing on it, and by His words, He created Adam and Eve. He didn’t make them or any part of this world with His hands; He spoke it all into existence.”

Again he is Incorrect. 8 times in Genesis it records God used his spoken word to create, but not everything. Man he directly created from the ground and he is not spoken into existence. Gen. 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”

The material part of man which he was formed from is the soil Job 10:8 “Your hands have made me and fashioned me” His soul was directly breathed into him, making him alive.

Formed in Hebrew is the word yatzar is not explaining a work out of nothing, but a work out of something, out of the ground, a work only God can do. It means “to mold” or “to shape by design.”

And Eve (who also the species of man Gen.2:21, 23) God directly created from the man. So what he teaches is incorrect. Gen. 2:21-22 “He caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman.”

So Wommack again is inaccurate, on purpose. Why? Because he holds to the word faith teaching which has influenced his understanding of scripture. That our words have power (Like God) and that is our authority which God gave us, (through Adam) because we are made just like God.

“He gave absolute dominion to Adam and Eve. When He said “I give you authority and dominion,” He took His power—His right to rule and control the earth—and gave it to physical human beings. In a sense, He excluded Himself from ruling over the earth.” (The Word Became Flesh” A. Wommack)

God was excluded from ruling, and man is ruling?

What does the Scripture say about this?

The Psalmists sayPs 24:1”The earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness”

Ps 105:7 “He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth.”

Ps 147:15 “He sends out His command to the earth; His word runs very swiftly.”

The whole Scripture portrays God ruling over the heavens and the earth. What is Wommack talking about? To say this is purposely misleading.

“I believe that each of us have a spiritual womb. We take the supernatural words of God—the seed of the miracles we need—and we meditate on them until they conceive, until we can see the result in our hearts. Then, when we can see it, we can speak it into existence.”

“And for those who will place His words in their hearts and allow those seeds to conceive, they will in time see the manifestation of what they believe and speak.” (The Word Became Flesh” A. Wommack)

This an Occult type exercise of visualization and producing a new reality. And what is worse is that he applies this to John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Jesus was not just a man sent from God, He was God.”

His explanation of the Word, is a word being spoken shows what he believes is different.

“The last Adam, Jesus, would still have to be spoken into existence by God, but He would have to speak through man. God was no longer in direct control, and a man would have to become the voice of His words. Psalm 115:16.

“God had to create the new Adam through words spoken by someone with a physical body. Galatians 4:4 says, “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son.”

“The virgin birth of Jesus was completely natural in every respect except one: It was not the seed of a man. The seed was the word of God. The Word became flesh!”

The Bible says it is the seed of the woman, and not what he claims. And the birth may have been natural but the conception, which we are talking about was not.

“The Word” of Jn.1 according to the Bible is God, who always EXISTED as the Son of God. The word became flesh, added a human nature to its being.

But when he says the ‘word’ he means what was spoken by prophets that formed him by speaking, which intentionally denies the deity of Christ. How can we know this? For he says Jesus was brought into existence by the prophets words over thousands of years, that is why Wommack says he is called the Word. John.1:1 “ Jesus is the Word because God spoke him into existence through dozens of prophets, there’s a hundred different people over a 4,000 year period of time the Word, the Holy Spirit took these words and impregnated Mary ” (this is Copelands teaching fully)

So he was being put together by piecemeal over the centuries until formed. Just like Wommack’s teaching is piecemeal from the Bible.

One of the reasons Jesus is called the Word because he spoke things into existence as the Son who is God. The Word is a synonym for the Son of God who always existed with the Father. He is called the Word by John, because it is he who directly communicated to all men, and the prophets (Heb.1:1).

Is everything womack says wrong? No, but there are some major core teachings that are that affect other core teachings that are. As he says “wrong knowledge produces wrong results” (Nature of God). Indeed it does on this topic and others he speaks on.

Wommack explains why Jesus had to be born: “God didn’t have a physical human body, so He wasn’t free to just operate unrestricted on this earth. He had to become a man. Jesus—the Word made flesh, the God-Man—had to become a physical person so that He could have authority on this earth. (John 1:14.)” (The Believer’s Authority, 57.)

Wait a second, did not God create all the heavens and earth and the creatures on earth before the Word became a man? What is this man talking about? And the Scripture he often attaches as proof is unrelated to his points.

Releasing your power from within for changing your reality

By his revelations he passes onThe key for me understanding these things was the revelation the Lord gave me that I’ve entitled Spirit, Soul & Body. God is a Spirit (John 4:24), and He moves in the spiritual realm. Whether or not we see a physical manifestation of what He has done in the spiritual realm is dependent upon what we believe and how we act, not on what He has done. It’s not up to the Lord to heal us; He’s already healed us (1 Pet. 2:24). But He gave His miraculous power to us to release.”

Where does the Bible teach to release this power? Well you have to buy his book. If He’s already healed you, then you don’t have to do a thing, unless these words mean something else.

So how do we exercise this“all authority?” “You have to assume your authority and acknowledge the power is under your command.”

It takesWommack to tell us all that we are missing. Consider his next proof for all this “I’ve produced a teaching on The Believer’s Authority. I have some radical teachings in this album. For example, who do you think made Satan? Most people think that God made Satan, but that’s not so. God created Lucifer, a wonderful, powerful, godly angel, but it was mankind who made Satan. There is a difference between creating and making. (We looked at this in the previous portion 3)… . Satan isn’t using some superhuman, angelic authority against us; he’s using the authority and power that was given to man by God. Therefore, Satan can’t do anything to us without our consent and cooperation.”

So we (Adam and Eve) are to blame for causing his fall, for making Lucifer into Satan. And, we allow him to do anything to us. This is so convoluted its hard to straighten out what is so crooked. When Satan fell, a third of the angels that joined in his rebellion fell along with him. So then Adam and Eve made all the angels fall, not just Satan. (see pt.3 for a refute on this)

We are told not to submit to the Devil, or sin, Eph. 4:27 do not give place to the devil. But we are not in charge of the Devil, what he does to us…God is. We can only resist his temptations by standing in Christ.

We are told to “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Eph. 6:11-12), one should read the whole section to understand that he attacks in many ways. The main point is that we do not put on armor because he was given permission by us to attack us, that is absurd. Where does the Bible say he can’t do anything without our permission?

Just a few illustration from the scriptures. 1 Peter 5:8-9 “your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith” He is seeking us as a lion is hungry for its prey, our only way of defense is to resist him

Nonetheless we read Rev 2:10” indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested” So then all they have to do is not give him permission and this would not happen? Hardly what Scripture teaches.

2 Cor .12:7 I was given “a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me,”

So all Paul had to do is no, he didn’t want this thorn in his flesh, he even prayed (yes prayed, he did not speak for it to leave) three times for it to be removed, but God had a purpose. So even Paul did not have all this authority Wommack teaches we do. 1 Thess 2:18 “but Satan hindered us.” But we read Paul didn’t want to be hindered, he didn’t want it yet God allowed it.

The Bible does say not to fall for his schemesor temptations. “But we are told be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Eph 6:10-11) Why, if the Devil is powerless and we are in control do we need armor, because it’s not true what he says. Wiles are the word methods.

Wommack telling people the Devil is powerless and we have authority over whatever he does I would say comes under ‘his methods.’

Scripture teaches that he has power and continues to exercise his authority, as we read in Revelation of his system and the counterfeit Christ eventually ruling over the whole world temporarily.

1 Cor.12:29 Paul tells us “not all are apostles” and the Bible give us the distinctions between regular believers and those who were chosen by Jesus to lay the foundation of the church. In fact no one in history ever claimed anything like the faith teachers promote today. look at the examples of the Apostles, how they practiced their Christianity and what they wrote to the Church. Look at the Church and how they practiced their Christianity and obeyed the Apostle’s writings. Anyone walk on water? Anyone feed 5 thousand? Anyone resurrect themselves?

All these error are taken from just a few sermons. But there is so much more to be concerned about as we conclude
