Will the R. H. Browne River stop flowing?

Instead of cooperating with health officials, Rodney Howard- Browne defied them and an arrest warrant was issued for him. He was taken into custody over the weekend. He faces misdemeanor charges of unlawful assembly and violation of public health emergency order.  Both charges are second-degree misdemeanors.

The River church at Tampa Bay Church held two services Sunday, offering bus transportation to those services. They shook hands to show they weren’t afraid of contracting the Coronavirus.

"They have access to technology allowing them to livestream their services over the internet and broadcast to their 400 members from the safety of their own homes, but instead they chose to gather at church," Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said during a press conference. Chronister stated it was a "reckless disregard for public safety."

Taking the position that restrictions on churches are a violation of the First Amendment’s guarantee of freedom of religion. Choosing not to just live stream his services.

Howard- Browne claims his church did follow social distancing guidelines:“Not only did the church comply with the administrative order regarding six-foot distancing, it went above and beyond any other business to ensure the health and safety of the people. " If one looks at the service clearly there are some people that far away from each and there are many that are not.

Howard- Browne stated “In a time of crisis, people are fearful and in need of comfort and community, more than ever before. Even people who do not attend church regularly, or perhaps never go to church, need to know that there is somewhere for them to go when they need help.”

State Attorney Warren's response  “I think it’s unfortunate that the pastor here is hiding behind the First Amendment. One, it’s absolutely clear that emergency orders like this are constitutional and valid. Second of all, leaders from our faith-based community across this country have embraced the importance of social distancing .”

Rodney - Browne on March 15 said that his church would remain open and that only the end of the world could force him to close it.

Howard-Browne claims the building had the technology to eradicate any virus "We brought in 13 machines that basically kill every virus in the place," If somebody walks in the door, its like, it kills everything on them. "If they sneeze it shoots it down like at 100 miles per hour and it will neutralize it in a split second." We have the most sterile building in all of America.

Time for someone to investigate these audacious claims. Clearly he does not understand what airborne means or how many ways this virus can be spread. There is no machine that can kill the virus as he claims. If he has machines that kill the virus why are these not used in the stores, meeting places, businesses or hospitals? Don’t laugh when I ask exactly who made these machines?

As of the end of March over 60 people have died in Florida from this current virus.

Others have rightly commented that quarantining is mentioned in the Bible. Nonetheless, Browne along with others have sided with their unbiblical fire baptism. As Kenneth Copeland tells his congregants to pray the virus away. On March 12, 2020 he claimed to heal Coronavirus-infected viewers who touch their TVs.

Borrowing this tactic from Benny Hinn who used this nearly 20 years ago Copeland told his viewers “Put your hand on that television set,”  “Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord Jesus. He received your healing.”

Apostle Guillermo Maldonado stated “ I curse that virus from the root and from the seed, in Jesus’ mighty name, right now ,” Maldonado said. “Disintegrate, dissolve like the dust, in Jesus’ mighty name.”

Apparently as faith healers they can only do so much as they do not go out to others to heal and no reports of supernatural healing has come forth that have been substantiated, that does not prevent them from their grandiose claims. And what of those in his congregation that may get the virus from his meetings?

No doubt an apology will be issued from him and others. But is it enough?
