What gospel is the NAR (New apostles and prophets) preaching?

Numerous NAR apostles and prophets teach there is a distinction between two gospels, the “gospel of salvation” and the “gospel of the kingdom.” The “gospel of salvation” encompasses the good news through Christ’s death and resurrection, providing salvation from sin. But this is an incomplete gospel. This is what Joseph Farah (of WND) happens to agree with and promote. That the “gospel of the kingdom” is the completed gospel, which goes beyond salvation from sin, but our taking dominion. (source: C.P. Wagner, Dominion, p.67-68; Johnny Enlow, The Seven Mountain Prophecy (Lake Mary, FL: Creation House, 2008), p.41.

This means, we, the church are to be directly involved in transforming society, which methodology is called the “Seven Mountain Mandate,” originating with the founder of YWAM, Loren Cunningham in the mid-seventies. Peter Wagner believed this is the true meaning of the Great Commission, changing the world by overcoming each sector to take nations. According to this revelation, (which is utterly false). Loren Cunningham said, the way to take dominion is by taking control of the seven most influential societal institutions — called “mountains” — which are identified as government, media, family, business/finance, education, church/religion, and arts/entertainment.

According to Mike Bickle, this feat will be accomplished by the end-time Christians — under the leadership of apostles and prophets — who will say “ prophetic” prayers that will release the Great Tribulation judgments on the kingdom of the Antichrist. (Mike Bickle’s 12-part series titled “Book of Revelation,” Mike Bickle, http://mikebickle.org/resources/series/the-book-of-revelation (data retrieved 18 December 2012).

He is telling them to ready themselves to go through the tribulation and to spiritually fight the antichrist.

Many leaders in the NAR movement teach that before Christ returns, God will transfer the wealth from the hands of the wicked to the hands of the NAR apostles (aka John Avanzini’s false money laundering teaching). The purpose of this wealth transfer is so that the church will have the financial resources it will need to establish God’s earthly kingdom. This teaching is often referred to “the great end-time transfer of wealth.” Which they instead take from the church for their ministry (consider 1 Jn.3:7-8).

The end times saints according to prophet Bill Hamon (apostle and prophet in the NAR) we will manifest” or be unveiled as “sons of God.” These manifested sons of God will overcome sickness and death and execute God’s judgments on earth. This was taught by the Vineyard under Wimber, all the Latter Rain promoters basically believe this in some variation, thus they deny a rapture (being taken to heaven) and a tribulation (a judgment time from God upon the world like to Noah’s day).

NAR leaders claim that this transformation is taught in the Bible in Romans 8:19 , which reads:“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” (KJV translation). The Manifest Sons of God teaching was originally promoted by leaders of the post-World War II Latter Rain movement, i.e. William Branham and George Warnock. They removed the Scripture from the context and made it stand on its own, and then used it to reinterpret other Scriptures, that were plain and more explanatory. Promoters of this teaching include U.S. prophets Paul Cain, Rick Joyner, Bill Hamon and now so many others (NAR) follow their lead into serious eschatological error (study of the last days).

Rick Joyner, together with Bob Jones, predicted in 1997 that Los Angeles would be destroyed in nine months by earthquakes and terrorist attacks. See the article written by Cedric Harmon, “God’s Lightning Rod,” 31 March 2001, Charisma Magazine, (retrieved 18 December 2012) http://www.charismamag.com/life/156-j15/features/issues-in-the-church/303-gods-lightning-rod

So many false predictions have occurred by the former Vineyard prophets that are now leaders and participants in the NAR (New Apostolic movement).

Of course, their position is that there are no false prophets, just prophetic mistakes made by their spoken words? This means one cannot hold any individual accountable for his false words they themselves called prophecy. They equate prophecy with teaching, saying, that if one teaches wrong this does not make them a false teacher, so if one prophecies wrong it is the same thing. Prophecy is not the same as studying for a message and constructing it to deliver a sermon. Prophecy are direct words God speaks to man that man is not to change and deliver to people. It is NOT the same as teaching.

I say this with a caveat: if one is consistently wrong on the core doctrines of God’s nature or man, wrong on the main theological categories, such as eschatology (the study of last things) they can be a false teacher. This can be done intentionally or not.

The New Apostolic ‘Reformation agenda’ is spread through thousands of agencies and websites. This is the Transformations movement, or a better descript term would be the paradigm shift to ear tickle the church into thinking they have supernatural powers to change the world and can transfer them to you. A majority of Christian churches have bought into their Dominionist agenda headed by false apostles, driven by false prophecies from false prophets. Wagner spoke continually about the government of the church, under the leadership of the new foundational restored “apostles”, OVERTHROWING the governments of the world. This has become what the Spirit is saying to the church . But this is not written in the Bible, this is a ‘now word,’ a fresh word from the Lord; the Lord/who is prince of this world. 1 John 5:19-20 “ We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.”

Yes, ‘a spirit’ is indeed saying something to the churches. Since this is based on false teachings not in the Bible and false prophecy rather than the written Word, you can be assured to understand that this is not the Holy Spirit speaking. If this agenda that C. Peter Wagner has been proposing and established is not part of “the woman who rides the beast,” I don’t know what is!

Dominion is just one of the many errors they teach, the changing of our nature to be just like Jesus on earth and be more powerful than the apostles is also a major heresy.

Dominion is just one of the many errors they teach, the changing of our nature to be just like Jesus is also a major heresy.

They subtly teach worry and fear, they introduce ways to exercise (non biblical) spiritual power of declaring and decreeing for self exaltation and control. “all these things the Gentiles seek.” (Matt 6:32)

Not only do they call themselves apostles and prophets but Generals. Like Cindy Jacobs or Anna Mendez (Ferrell). God does not call leaders ‘to lead’ by naming them to military positions but to serve others by example.

Matt. 20:25-26 “the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.”

This is how the church is to lead; like Christ did, not as the world does.

John who wrote of the last days and what will take place addresses this directly.

1 John 2:16 “ For all that is in the world --the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world.”

1 John 4:4-6 “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God.”

This movement began with wrong ecclesiology (study on the church), a wrong Christology (study on Christs nature), to a wrong Pneumatology (study on the Holy Spirit) and ended up with their wrong Eschatology ( study of the last days).

If one studies the word and reads it correctly; rightly dividing it; the gospel in the early church did not produce signs and wonders to the audience every time it was given, even among the apostles. The Word in truth was first delivered. Despite all their talk, their stories, they never seem to supply proof. We do not find them producing these signs of the apostles in our today because they are not true apostles. Because of their flawed reading, their darkened understanding, their interpretations result in false teaching and applications. What this movement has been producing are lying signs and wonders by appointed false prophets and apostles, and the true gospel that gives life is neglected. Preaching Jesus, The Son of God crucified for our sins and resurrected is not their agenda, instead their main message is power, prestige, including money. That should tell you whom their source is.

The NAR prophets (at least some of them) that were incorporated into its ranks had to apologize for being wrong in prophecy in the past, some are far more wrong than being right. But their apology did not last long. Their continual prophetic record equals the psychics at best. The Elijahlist which is a gathering place of prophets that are false teachers/prophets that teach psychics have a real gift from God too, but they just misuse it!

How a psychic (the Bible calls them a medium and forbids one to hear what they say) gift is from God while denying Jesus and his gospel is not ever explained.

Where it began

We do not have to go far back in the past to understand that the NAR based its concept of the church to be equipped with apostles and prophets first taught by William Branham in his Latter Rain teaching. It was later introduced into the Vineyard by John Wimber (later 1980’s) who spoke of needing signs and wonders for the gospel or it is ineffective (called power evangelism). More recently we learned that it is Lonnie Frisbee whose new mysticism, signs and wonders being the instigator in the Vineyard church after Branham. Wimber’s model of ministry came from Lonnie Frisbee who convinced him of power encounters of the spirit by experience rather than by the Word. They had no concept that the apostles preached the Word first followed by signs if the Lord saw it necessary.

Wimber allowed Frisbee to influence his ministry which changed their direction permanently. In fact he severed from Calvary Chapel because of this. This continual discounting the word in exchange for an experience was counter intuitive to discernment, and created a vacuum where this new openness let many counterfeits rush in. This first of all made their church dysfunctional and then others that adopted its unbiblical ways spiritually became the same (Toronto Vineyard.)

Now this is spread through the landscape and is even harder to uproot with the truth explained because so many have been indoctrinated in this false Christianity and do not know the difference.

John speaks of those who wrote the scripture “We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.” (1 John 4:6)

All the apostles echoed and affirmed Jesus' warning for these last days.

Paul writes there are “ false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. (2 Cor. 11:13)

Peter writes, “there were false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you” (2 Peter 2:1)

John warns “ many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1)

Pray that people who love the LORD and HIS WORD, those who want the truth come to the right understanding and abandon this current wind of doctrine that is now blowing over the worlds churches.
