Are there more Elijah’s to come? William Branham’s Latter Rain legacy Today we hear of those promoting an Elijah generation to take place these concepts are found in the false movement called the Latter rain that came from William Branham’s teaching whom called himself an Elijah. In Matthew 11:13, Jesus states: “For all the prophets and the Law prophesied until John.” (John who was considered to be Elijah called him “John,” not “Elijah.” Elijah is included with 'all the prophets' who came before John in an old testament time of law. In verse 14, Jesus says “and if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come.” Meaning he is a type because if we go back to what the angel Gabriel said: he (John) would come “ in the spirit and power” of Elijah (Luke 1:17), coming in this ministry does not make him literally Elijah the prophet and it does not say another will come after except Elijah. In Mal. 4:5-6 he is named “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. Meaning before the tribulation. Malachi had predicted that before the Messiah's appearing, Elijah would come as a forerunner (Mal. 4:5-in relation to the day of the Lord, the tribulation). If the people had been willing to receive Jesus as the Messiah, then John would have filled the role of Elijah, but they did not. And the Scripture tells us they would not. The unnamed forerunner (who is John the baptizer) is for the first coming, not the second. Elijah who already lived was promised to come for the second coming of Christ and he is NOT an unnamed person as John, but is Elijah, just as the Scripture states in Mal. 4:5-6. In John 1:20 when the Jews sent out the priests and Levites to investigate John's ministry. They ask him if he is the Christ. He states emphatically “No!” They ask him again if he is Elijah, John answers “I am not.” If William Branham (or anyone else) was Elijah as he claimed we have some very big problems. For one he was not Jewish nor was he brought up in a Jewish home. He was not even brought up in believing home, John was. Elijah is sent to the Jews, that would be in Israel not America. In Luke 1:76, we see that John's father, Zecharias, is filled with the Holy Spirit and says that his child will be called the prophet of the highest and will “go before the face of the Lord and prepare His ways again.' This relates John's ministry to Mal. 3:1, 4:5, and Luke 1:17. John labored in the same Spirit and power of the former prophet by calling people to repentance and he was preparing them for the salvation that Christ would later bring, that would heal families Followers of Branham state we must have a prophet (prophet William M. Branham) to lead us into Bible understanding, into the Promised Land. That this is God's unchanging pattern. Today this is what is claimed by the NAR to install prophets (and apostles) back into the Church The Bible states, “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son ”(Hebrews 1:1-2). He has spoken to us by His Son who is THE prophet, priest, judge and king, all the types prior are fulfilled in him. He alone is the word. Branham said the angel spoke to him stating “As John the Baptist was sent to forerun the first coming of Jesus Christ, so are you sent to forerun His second coming !” we are looking for a Light to come.IT'S HERE. … WHEN ELIJAH COMES, THAT'S THE MESSENGER TO THE LAODICEAN CHURCH AGE . Remember, Elijah was the one that went up on a chariot, never tasted death. And the message of this great messenger that'll come in this closing day in the Laodicean church Age , the Pentecostal Age, will be the one that'll take the church to the rapture. (The Messiah - 1/17/61) Branham said that he was the messenger of the Laodicean church. Fitting. But he did not take the church into the rapture, and Branham also said “see, immediately after the coming of THIS Elijah, the earth will be cleansed by hate and the wicked burned to ashes.” It’s now 55 years after he said this, which seems to eliminate his time element of immediately. Branham said,“Of course, this did NOT happen at the time of John (the Elijah for his day.)….” (The Message To The Laodicean Age). And,… it did not happen for Branham either! “Friends, THIS IS THE FULFILLMENT OF MALACHI 4, St. Luke 17, St. John 15, Revelations 10, so many prophecies that can be pinned exactly to this day ” (Events made Clear By Prophecy - 08/01/65e) Over and over Branham pinpointed it would be HIMSELF, his day that the fulfillment would be. That “ He was Elijah the prophet, the seventh angelic messenger to the Laodicean Church Age (Footprints on the Sands of Time, p. 620). It is in his 7 seal book “We believe firmly that this promise was fulfilled in... William Marrion Branham.” (The Revelation of the Seven Seals, Introduction, p. 19) But nowhere does Scripture say another in type will come. It does not say the spirit of Elijah would come, but Elijah himself. This is very important for a correct interpretation of Scripture so that one does not travel on the road of symbolism to make up doctrine. His teaching “The first time he come, he was Elijah himself. The next time he come, he was Elisha. The next time he come, he was what? John the Baptist. The next time he comes is for the seventh angel. And the fifth time he comes, he's with Moses over yonder...( TRIAL.THE TAMPA.FL V-12 N-2 64-0419 ) Are the two witnesses Moses, Elijah in Rev.11? The Bible would say if they were one of these. They are probably going to be two completely new people for the Tribulation who act in the same type of ministry of Moses and Elijah, just as John came in the Spirit of Elijah On the Mount of Transfiguration Elijah and Moses appear and Jesus talks to Elijah (Matt. 17:3; Luke 9:30; Mark 9:4-5). The disciples recognize him as Elijah. Benny Hinn has stated, “I've had individuals appear to me in my room. Not only angels…. I have not just seen angels, I've seen saints.” Elijah came to him and gave him a double anointing of the Holy Spirit .” (Blaisdell crusade Honolulu Hawaii, Feb. 28, 1997, evening service). Hinn’s spirit of Elijah is connected to the double portion anointing that his fake Elijah the prophet gave him when he personally appeared in his room. This continued Branham teaching which has been proven wrong is misleading the church. We continue to hear the days of the greatest revival in history are upon us, the days of Elijah. “Elijah generation” (this is Latter Rain speech) Promoters like Lou Engle states “There’s an Elijah generation that’s going to be the forerunners for the coming of Jesus.”An “Elijah generation, an anointing” that will prepare the world for the kingdom which is not spoken of in God’s Word. We have been Hearing about a revival, the greater move of God that will surpass all others has been said over 35 years, all that continues are the words of these false prophets. Scripture points to the Great Tribulation period, where 144,000 Jewish believers will conduct this revival (Rev.7, 14). What is taking place from their promises is a growing apostasy statements and teachings are all part of contributing to it. “We will carry the Elijah anointing in preparing for the return of the Lord in the same way that John the Baptist carried the Elijah anointing and prepared the people for the coming of the Lord.” (When Heaven Invades Earth). Instead of Branham being an Elijah there will be a prophet army of Elijah’s, Branham spoke “You are messengers of this same message.” Scripture does NOT teach Elijah’s anointing will be upon the church. The only one that will have an Elijah anointing is “Elijah himself.” The Bible uses Elijah as a spiritual function for John but never says there will be a repetition like this; Branham taught that it will. We hear of an “Elijah company,” “Elijah Generation,” “Elijah Revolution,” that the name and actual ministry of Elijah become meaningless. Apostles Lou Engle and Jim Goll in The Call of the Elijah Revolution describe a generation that refuses “to compromise with the Jezebel spirit in the land.” ‘Engle was a senior leader of the International House of Prayer who is still involved with IHOP. prophesied: "I believe we’re headed to an Elijah/Jezebel showdown on the Earth, not just in America but all over the globe, and the main warriors will be the prophets of Baal versus the prophets of God, and there will be no middle ground,”….There’s an Elijah generation that’s going to be the forerunners for the coming of Jesus, a generation marked not by their niceness but by the intensity of their passion...” (2008 at the Kansas City IHOP) Engle further states, “I realized I was in an Elijah-Elisha moment myself and that for the next stage of breakthrough in America I needed to focus my whole being into double portion sons and daughters. I felt that I could not move forward, unless like Elijah to Elisha and John to Jesus, I myself passed my spiritual mantle on to those who could carry it further than I ever could” https://www.thecallannouncement.com/Along with the Elijah anointing is the double portion, which is more like a double deception as none of this is mentioned at all in the New Testament. Brian Simmons (who wrote the Passion Bible) agrees with Lou Engle “For the last 20 years, God has used TheCall to gather hundreds of thousands in a John the Baptist type movement to fast and pray in preparation for a 3rd great awakening.” Benny Hinn repeated what Francis Frangipane said on his program previously, “Where we find the spirit of Jezebel you will find the spirit of Elijah.” “Get ready the spirit of Elijah is about to visit your life-- that anointing is coming your way.” Does the spirit of Elijah visit people? Was the Elijah to come as a spirit? Elijah is a person? Can you see how all this is integrated. Johnson states: [A] generation is now forming . . . that will walk in an anointing that has never been known by mankind before, including the disciples. (Bill Johnson, The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind: Access to a Life of Miracles (2005, Kindle edition), Kindle location: 1959). Bill Johnson’s says a great end-time revival is to be initiated by an “Elijah generation.” “We will carry the Elijah anointing in preparing for the return of the Lord in the same way that John the Baptist carried the Elijah anointing and prepared the people for the coming of the Lord” (p.184,When Heaven Invades Earth) Johnson clearly teaches the Latter Rain concept of an “outpouring of the Spirit in the last generation” (p.184 When Heaven Invades Earth). Which happens to be taking place now. “We will carry the Elijah anointing in preparing for the return of the Lord in the same way that John the Baptist carried the Elijah anointing and prepared the people for the coming of the Lord.” Instead of Branham being the Elijah there will be a prophet army of Elijah’s, But Scripture says the only one that will have an Elijah anointing is Elijah himself. John Wimber was influenced by Lonnie Frisbee and Branham said, “and we will see the Elijah's.... This End time Army will be made of the Elijah’s of the Lord God. ” (John Wimber, Docklands England, October, 1990). Kingdom now, 7 mountain teacher, Lance Wallnau says of Billy Graham. The day he died “the prophetic shall gain a new insight and sight.”And of course“A Billy Graham anointing is coming upon a new generation of believer,” “That he saw a Elijah transaction, something coming down” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBVNSHS53B0 Paul Cain and Rick Joyner in Rick Joyner’s Morning Star Journal discussed the topic of Elijah. There they called the Elijah Ministry the "Spiritual Fathers". "The best is yet to come. …The Lord is going to anoint the people in these last days with the spirit of Elijah. We will see the kind of power that Elijah walked in revealed again.” The real Elijah confronted the 450 false prophets of Baal, I do not see any of those who claim to be Elijah today confronting other false teachers and prophets, they befriend them’. The are not Elijah’s as the bible defines prophets. Just a Jesus had said John the Baptist came in the spirit (the ministry) of Elijah, the false prophet, could come as a false Elijah. (It was William Branham who worked signs and wonders that thought of himself Elijah, Hinn and the others all endorse Branham). This false prophet will point to and confirm the antichrist. This false prophet will be confirmed by great signs and wonders, he, “ performed great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on earth in the sight of men” (Revelation 13:13). Considering that the majority are calling “fire on you” seeing fire fall falling could this actually happen someday. What this fire is the Scripture does not specifically describe, what we do know from Scripture is that fire accompanied God as his glory. So if there is to be a counterfeit Christ it would make sense it would be a counterfeit false prophet and counterfeit glory coming down.
