A Religious LIE

The revelation given to Brain Simmons

But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth,  but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.” 1 John 2:20-21

Sid Roth So where'd you come up with the words, Passion Translation?

Brian Simmons  Well, years ago, I saw an angel named Passion in our church meeting and the Lord spoke to me, not audibly but internally and said that angel is with your ministry, it's the angel of passion. (Sid Roth interview 1/26/15)

Interesting that many years before this there was a movie called Passion Angel. This is just like Todd Bentleys angel, who is just like William Branham’s angel. not a good repeat

On Sid Roth’s “It’s Supernatural’ television program (2015) Brian Simmons claimed that in 2009, Jesus Christ literally visited him in his bed room, “Jesus Christ came into my room and breathed on me and he commissioned me.” …And he spoke to me and said, ‘I'm commissioning you to translate the Bible into the translation project that I'm giving you to do.’ And he promised that he would help me, and he promised me that he would give me secrets of the Hebrew language.”…

Simmons claims he was offered in this spirit visitation more than any other translator had been offered, secrets of the Hebrew language, which he claims is in his translation by using the Aramaic language.

Sid Roth comments “do you believe that when he blew on you there was an impartation for revelation?”

Brian Simmons answers: “I do, I believe the spirit of revelation was given and I have to say when he breathed on me no way would I want to compare that to the writers of the New testament, the original writers (Moses, the Torah and Ezekiel), he breathed on me so that I would do the project, and I felt downloads coming, instantly. I received downloads. It was like, I got a chip put inside of me. I got a connection inside of me to hear him better, to understand the scriptures better and hopefully to translate." https://sidroth.org/television/tv-archives/brian-simmons/

Jesus breathed on the disciples as a group before Pentecost, here Simmons says He visited him and breathed on him to get even more. He now has better hearing and understands Scripture better, but hopes to translate better when this was the promise from the being that visited him. As far as his claim that he now understands the Scripture better – if anyone read the Passion Bible they know this is not true.

Simmons claims to have been given a supernatural gift to translate languages he does not know? Much like one is interpreting a tongue that is often a few phrases, but he has this new “unbiblical ability” to do the whole Bible. He says he felt it instantly, he was enlightened with unknown knowledge.

His Bible is not a translation of the original words or languages though he claims he has translated the original biblical manuscripts. Which is a miracle because there are none.

Simmons claims he began his biblical studies with The New Tribes Bible Institute and translated the Paya Kuna Bible when he was with them. New Tribes does not agree. His former mission  Ethnos360 says on his Passion Bile that they do not “ endorse it." And as far as his skills a person who does know him at the Mission said Brian is not a linguist of any sortThe Paya-Kuna translation was not done while he was serving with NTM.{DP} Also, a former co-worker of Brians shared this:He was a church planternot a translatorNobody in our mission would ever say that hes a bible translator or ever was approved as a Bible translator.” (Ethnos360 statement on the Passion Translation)

Jonathan: “When you started this project, um, were you, had you already had training in Greek and Hebrew? Or was this something that you had to jump into again? Or..?

Simmons: “I had minimal background in biblical languages, so yeah, it was something that, honestly, something the Lord has really helped me with.”

(Brian Simmons    An Interview With The Man Behind The Passion Translation, Welton Academy Online, http://podcast.weltonacademyonline.com/podcast/brian-simmons-the-man-behind-the-passion-translation/, Published June 13, 2017).

But he claims to have finished the project in a whole other language, and no one questions him on his minimal training. Yet he expressed that he had linguistic and biblical languages in his background when he did the Kuna translation? Wycliffe and Moody Bible institute does not have Simmons mentioned.
And they say this translation of the New Testament was completed in 1995, not by Simmons in the 80’s.

The second visitation

Moving on to his next supernatural experience. Simmons claims that Jesus visited him personally again, took him to a library of heaven. In his interview, he claims he was allowed to check out 2 books from this heavenly library, what he really desired was a third book, a brand new chapter of the gospel of John that has never yet been known -John 22. Jesus said not now, but promised to bring him back to heaven and give him this later on.

Brian “….I was actually asleep and I was taken out of my body, and I was brought into this immense library room. I loved being there. And the Lord came up to me and he said, “Brian, I have brought you here to let you take any two books you want.” And I’m just walking around. But it didn’t take long before I saw a book that I knew I was to have and then soon I saw another book I knew I was to have. But you’ll never want me back on the show when I tell you what happened then.”

We are told that we cannot take anything on earth to heaven, Simmons is telling us we can take things from heaven to earth. How preposterous is this? So he took 2 books that are apparently new revelation back to earth.

SID: What?

BRIAN: Well I have to tell you the truth. I saw a third book and I knew the Lord told me I could only take two. And in Heaven, whatever you think is put out over the loud speaker, everyone hears it. Your thoughts are broadcasted. So here’s what I hear coming out of the loud speaker, and it’s my own thoughts, how can I steal this book. And then I said, oh, no, I’m shoplifting on God. I felt so ashamed. But I knew if I could take this book, there was this book, so, if I could just take this book back with me to the natural realm it would trigger awakening in all the nations of the earth. It would bring, it would make the name of Jesus famous in the world. But Jesus came to me and said, “Brian, I cannot let you take this book.” And he looked at me in the eyes with love that melted me and he said, “You are not ready for that book.” Then he promised that, “I will bring you back one day and I will give you that book.”

SID: What was the title?

BRIAN: Written on the cover of the book was John 22.

SID: But there’s only 21 chapters in John. What’s this 22?

BRIAN: Well John 22, go back to John 14:12 and you’ll see that there is a greater works generation. “The works that I do you will do even greater works than these.” I believe the John 22 generation will be a people that do the greater works of Jesus. They will not add to the scripture, and that’s a sealed book. But it is a book that is unfolding and the works of Jesus will be replicated by an entire generation of people that believe fully in the power of God.”

Simmons does not tell us what the 2 books he took were but we know the one he did not take, the one he wanted to steal, that he coveted while in heaven (John 22). Therefore there is sin in heaven.

So Jesus is telling him he is not ready for the word of God by John in his continuation of his gospel, Really!

He speaks of a greater works generation? Where does it say this in the Bible? It says it in this continued book of John. Does Simmons understand works are different than miracles, signs and wonders. Apparently not. Understand John wrote at the end of his book I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written" (John 21:25). John believed his purpose of proving that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God completed his book.  John’s book is about Jesus, not the Church. John did not write a “John 22,” this is a religious lie. Of course Simmons may get away with this imaginary story among the naïve and untrained in Scripture truth.

What language were these other two books written in and by whom are they written by?  Why are they not revealed if he was given permission to have them by Jesus. Why is no asking more questions on this matter?

Did John add more to his gospel while he was in heaven? For who? Do you want to accept there are pens or pencils and paper in heaven along with this immense library of books of all kinds (not just Bible books that were not written on earth). Are we to believe the Bible was not completed when John penned the last book on Jesus, called the Revelation of Jesus Christ. That is exactly what these groups claiming to have new revelation are saying, and they want you to obey their new words

I like asking questions because they can reveal what is true or not true. For example, what language did John write chapter 22 in? Was it Greek like his former gospel, or Hebrew, or Aramaic. How did Simmons read this language. Or did just have a knowing that by taking this book back with me to the natural realm it would trigger awakening in all the nations of the earth.” As if the word God that was given to us is lacking something, that this chapter alone will do what no other book of the Bible can.

The Bible says Prov. 30:6 Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.

This is found throughout the Old Testament, yet the Pharisees added laws to the 613 laws thus breaking the command.  Rev. 22:18 “For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book.”

That’s not a good thing. Just to understand what he is claiming let’s hear from some reputable Bible teachers.

Rev 22:18 Shall give any other meaning to these prophecies, or any other application of them, than God intends (from Adam Clarke's Commentary)

Rev 22:6-20 with a profession that new truth had been communicated by inspiration. The reference here is to the book of Revelation only-for at that time the books that now constitute what we call the Bible were not collected into a single volume.  (from Barnes' Notes)

One may say he is not adding to Gods Word because it’s God giving it to him! Really, who says so? He says so! There are so many problems with Simmons’ supernatural stories, and others like it that is as noticeable as bozos red nose.

It’s time to stand against the Gnostics and Mystics. Don’t give up an inch to these type of people who are under a spiritual delusion, challenge them and their experiences by the Word of truth.

The fact is the Passion translation is a Bible from a man whose had false spiritual experiences, who has inserted his own beliefs into his bible and is using it to further his religious career should be a red light for all who love the truth.
