How creation of the universe and man began according to William Branham

He taught that God created the Son before the sun and stars were created.

“Eternal, how could it be a Sonship and be eternal? If He's a Son, he'd had to have a beginning of time.” (53-0610, “Show Us The Father And It'll Satisfy Us,” Roberts Park Amphitheater, Connersville, IN).

The Word, Logos:the Logos that went out of God. In other words, a--a better word for it, was what we call a theophany. (Theophany is a human body that's glorified.) Not exactly with flesh and blood like it will be in its glorified stage” (57-0828, Hebrews, Chapter Two #3, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

This theophany that is made a human body was spoken of numerous times.  So Branham teaches the Logos who supposed to be Jesus before he became man. He does not cite Scripture for any of these claims? Because there are none. He’s making it all up.

And this logos was a thought of God.

“There was the Word. In the beginning, before it was a Word, it was a thought” (54-1003M, The Word Became Flesh (India Trip Report), Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

So the beginning is not the word but the thought, and everyone knows a thought is not a person.

He said of God “And in him was attributes. What is an attribute? A thought” (The Spoken Word, Vol. 3, p. 79).

“And before it was a Word, it has to be a thought. And a word is a thought expressed. And God, in Eternity, it come into His mind. He expressed His thoughts. It become a Word, and the Word has to be made manifest” (63-0114, A Trumpet Gives An Uncertain Sound, Christian Assembly, Phoenix, AZ).

“Now, in the beginning was the word. A word is thought expressed. In the beginning He wasn’t even God (The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us p.11).

Was Jesus a thought, that became a spoken word that became a theophany before the heavens and earth were created? Or was he God the Son before he incarnated as man?

“If you want to go back a little farther, just as far as historical, you could see the Word. In the beginning was the Word. But what is the Word? A word is a thought manifested, a thought spoken forth. God, first He perceived the thought and spoke it, and it meant--became a word, and the word became material” (55-0113, “The Fundamental Foundation For Faith,” Philadelphia Church, Chicago, IL).

So then the Son, who is Jesus is at “first” a thought of God, that then was spoken (logos) to exist.

“The Father covered all the space. And then this God become bodilized down to the Logos” (51-0729A, The Resurrection Of Lazarus, National Guard Armory, Erie, PA)

“His Father was the great Logos Itself.” (65-0429B, The Seed Shall Not Be Heir With The Shuck, Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles, CA)

So the Father came out of the Father and became the logos? He spoke himself into existence.

Of course Branham contradicts himself on nearly every point he makes, saying “The first creation was God Himself; then out of God came the Logos, which was the Son of God; then out of the Logos, which was the Word ("… out of the Logos came forth the--the man” (53-0729, Questions And Answers On Genesis, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

He then taught man was created before he was taken from the ground as Adam. Scripture verse - NONE. What he did was divide Gen2, from Genesis 1 and made two creation accounts.

 Creation itself

Branham taught that the stars formed the first Bible, called the gospel in the stars.

“Now, in St. John 1 He said, "In the beginning was the Word." When the first... "And the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." God unfolding Himself down to a human being, now, watch how He did it. Now, back there, then, when this little halo comes... Now, we can't see nothing yet, but just by eyes of just supernatural we see a halo standing there. Now, that's the Son of God, the Logos, Now, I can see Him playing around like a little child before the Father's door, with all eternity. See? And now, then in His imaginary make-up He begin to think of what things would be, and I can hear Him say, "Let there be light." And when He did, an atom bursted and the sun came into existence. She whirled for hundreds of millions of years, forming clinkers, and burning, and forming like it is today: still burning, still breaking atoms” (53-0729, Questions And Answers On Genesis, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville).

Does the bible mention a halo before anything was created? That this son he calls the word played with creation like newborn child? It is also apparent that Branham did not believe in the 6 days of creation as Genesis taught but instead replaced it with hundreds of millions/billions of years in between each star being made, first our sun.

see, this is just like a child playing before the door. It was the Son of God, the Logos. And I can see Him out there, and He spake, and said, "Let there be light." …. The sun begin to come into existence, because He said, "Let there be." There's the authority. Where did He make it from? I don't know. There was nothing to make it from. But He believed His own Word, and there was light. I can see a piece fly off of that; it's a meteor. After a few million years, or a hundred billions of years, if you want to call it, and it circled way out. I see Him standing there watching it. And it falls down in here. He stops it after it falls a few million years, and let it hang there in orbit. Here goes another one flying off the sun. It goes over here and hangs down, stops it there.” (50-0815, Who Is God?, Tent Meeting, Cleveland, OH).

So the sun came into existence when he said let there be light on the first day?

The Bible says on the fourth day Gen 1:15-17 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.

Branham teaches each star took millions or even billions of years to be placed by this created logos he speaks of. That’s quite a stretch of time.

In fact the sun is a star which according to the Bible was made on the 4th day, NOT millions, or billions of years before the earth was made. Yet he also said on this, “That's the world, if it's made out of a bunch of broken up atoms, pulled off the sun yonder, before it was that. Then before there was an atom ever first broke in the sun, if this was a meteor off the sun, which would be a hundred billion trillion trillion trillions of years back before there was even one light meteor...”(58-0927, Why Are We Not A Denomination?, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

Not only did he say a hundred billion years but trillion[s] years ago. Branham speculated that it took billions of billions, even trillions of years to set things in order. That is a powerful imaginary story passed off as Bible teaching. Not even secular science believes this is how long it took to make the universe. Whatever speculation Branham began with, he did not put a limit on the time, “God made the world. He might've been a hundred trillion years making it.” (62-0909M, Countdown, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

“I can see Him speak to this world hanging there as an icicle, whatever it was, way away. And He moved it over here. I can see this little Light go out. Now, we got two now. The Father, and out of the Father came the Light, the Son. And I can see that Light moving over here and pulled the earth over near the sun to dry it off. And begin to...?... raise the water up, separating the land, earth from the water, and so forth.

Then He begin to create. And He made the fishes of the sea, the vegetable life. Put the cattles on the hill. It all looked good to Him.” (Attitude and who is God, Cleveland, OH 1950).

Where does the Bible describe creation like this; pulled the earth over near the sun to dry it off? From what?

So God took billions- trillions of years to write a Bible in the sky? Where’s that in the Bible? To have billions of years (or more) for each star placed in the universe considering there are estimated 100 billion stars in the Milky Way alone; and 10 trillion galaxies in the universe http://www.space.com/26078-how-many-stars-are-there.html

How long did it take? You do the math. Let’s consider the Bible which tells us all the stars were made on the 4th day, this refutes Branham’s theological speculations that were not drawn from the bible.

“After a hundred billions of years a clinker flew off of it, was a star. And we watch it falling. It fell for several million years, and He stopped it. Another one fell; He stopped it. What's He doing? He's writing His first Bible.” (54-0809A, I Will Restore Unto You, Saith The Lord, Shriner Temple, Los Angeles, CA).

Who is he writing it for, can anyone show us the language of the stars? Yes, Astrologers can.

“And He's writing His first Bible. … Then after He got all that written, the stars and the planets off that sun. Then I can see a big ball of ice laying yonder somewhere, this earth. And He brood over the earth, moved it over around the sun, dried it off. And He begin His creation on the earth.” (51-0729A, The Resurrection Of Lazarus, National Guard Armory, Erie, PA).

What sun would this be that the stars and planets came from?

“… the theologians call it, a theophany went from That, which was called, in the Scriptural, the "Logos," the Logos that went out of God. It's hard to explain, but It was a part of God....and this great Fountain, this great Fountain of Spirit which had no beginning or no end; this great Spirit began to form, in the creation, and the Logos that went out from It was the Son of God. It was the only visible form that the Spirit had. And It was a theophany, which means a body, and the body was like a man.” (57-0821, Hebrews, Chapter One, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

A theophany according to the bible is a visible appearance of God, which Branham explains is a man before the first man on erath. This is from the teachings in the Kabbalah and other occult literature.

Neither did Branham believe each day which numbered in Scripture was a day, he taught each day was a thousand years. ”Like God made six thousand years to build the world, and the seventh thousand He rested from all of His works. And the church labors against sin for six thousand years, and the seventh thousand the church rests.” ( 61-0101, Revelation, Chapter Four #2, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

It took 6 thousand years to form all of the earth and man.

Man created before the earth

How did Branham explain man was made?

“The first creation was God Himself; then out of God came the Logos, which was the Son of God; then out of the Logos, which was the Word ...out of the Logos came forth the--the man.” (53-0729, Questions And Answers On Genesis, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

“And you got your spirit before you're--ever come to the world.(59-1223, Questions And Answers, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

you begin before the world begin, spiritually speaking. When He made man, male and female, in His own image, which He was a Spirit” (55-1116, The Calling Of Abraham, Tent Meeting, San Fernando, CA)

So God made another God out of the logos.  he was made two people together. He was made both male and female; the man was.” (57-1006, Questions And Answers On Hebrews #3, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

Androgynous man is a teaching of the Kabbalah.

So He said, "Let us (plural) make man (plural) in our own image. Let us make man in our own image." So then when God made His first man, He was a spirit man. He was something on the order of God, or the Son of God, the Logos. That was the first man.” (53-0403, The Cruelty Of Sin, And The Penalty That It Cost To Rid Sin From Our Lives, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

And God in the beginning made His first man. He made him out of spirit. And spirit is the invisible part of man that you don't see (49-1225, The Deity Of Jesus Christ, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

Here he explains the second creation of man on earth.

“And He put this supernatural being which was called man, the third Person of the Trinity, Holy Spirit, into mankind (That's exactly right.), that man and He made him in His own image.” (53-0610, Show Us The Father And It'll Satisfy Us, Roberts Park Amphitheater, Connersville, IN).

Made in the image does not mean God is in all of us, otherwise it is not an image of God but the original.

“When God made man in His image, He made him a theophany. And He only placed him in flesh...” (57-1006, Questions And Answers On Hebrews #3, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

“God had us in His thinking, then we have Eternal Life, 'cause then He spoke us, and we come into existence. And a word is just a thought manifested. God had us, in the beginning, in His thoughts.” (64-1205, The Identified Masterpiece Of God, Stardust Motel, Yuma, AZ).

So we were a thought made into a word just like the logos.

“But God put a soul in a man. This white cloud, Deity.” (51-0729A, The Resurrection Of Lazarus, National Guard Armory, Erie, PA).

the Soul Branham called a theophany was deity, God.

“And what God does is off of God, which is as Eternal as God is. And man is just as Eternal as his Creator, because he was made from Eternity. (57-0908M, Hebrews, Chapter Five And Six #1, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

But he taught the Son cannot be eternal, just one of the many contradictions he spoke.

your soul is the part of God that's in you.” (56-0121, The Inter-Veil, Sturgis High School, Sturgis, MI)

This means everyone has God within. them, which is a universalist view, not a Christian view.

Your soul is part of God, a attribute of God.” (64-0802, The Future Home Of The Heavenly Bridegroom And The Earthly Bride, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN)

the soul that was in the man is that theophany.” (57-0828, Hebrews, Chapter Two #3, Branham Tabernacle, Jeffersonville, IN).

The Bible explains a theophany means a God appearance. The son of God (Jesus before his incarnation) was called a theophany according to the Bible. Branham is calling man’s soul a theophany.

Deity's in man. The very God that stood back there on the mythical platform of the eternities, and rolled worlds off of His hands, and created these things give you the privilege to be His son, and you're a part of Him. And God dwells in mankind, and man himself is Deity” (51-0729A, The Resurrection of Lazarus, National Guard Armory, Erie, PA)

So all of mankind had God in them, including Adam and that deity is the Holy Spirit according to Branham. Think about the ramifications for these teachings.

Branham’s teaching were not only bringing confusion but were a conundrum. Nearly everything he said not only contradicted the Bible, it contradicted what else he said at other times. None of this is Bible teaching but he used Scripture distorting it to convince people this is what the Bible teaches. There are dozens and dozens of topics, core doctrines that Branham opposed and replaced. So when you hear the name Branham as someone who did healings and miracles (which he attributed to his unknown angel), remember this. If one cannot get Genesis correct they certainly will not have other doctrines correct! And if they have this kind of false teachings divorced from the bible how does the Lord use the them, especially in such a powerful way as claimed?
