The teaching of unclean spirits (demons) being the spirits of pre - adamic man

A short Lesson in demonology

First we need to define the terminology unclean spirit, and demons.

The original Angelic state of Satan, he was called Lucifer, a light-bearer over the throne of God in heaven. When pride was found he fell and his nature changed. Two Prophets Ezekiel and Isaiah describe him in his pre- pure and holy state.

Ezekiel 28:11-19 describes the Fall of Satan; of him going from one angel to another defaming God, inciting a rebellion and having the angels' take allegiance to him. Those creatures in heaven called angels that followed him in his rebellion are known as demons, evil spirits, unclean spirits; they are 'fallen' angels.’

Satan an angel, is called the prince of demons (Mt. 12:24, the ruler). But he only gathered a third, two thirds stayed loyal to the Lord and did not listen and participate in his rebellion.

2 Peter 2:4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment

We see these certain angels sinned, spirit beings that fell and became what we know as demons

They are now referred to as the devil's angels (Mt. 25:41), also called Satan's angels (Rev. 12:7-9), because he is now their leader. The Bible teaches that fallen angels and demons are the same in nature, both are spirit beings. Both fallen angels and demons share the same abode, the air (Eph. 2:2; 6:12; Rev. 12:7-12).

You will not find any biblical texts that mention (fallen) angels or demons together, because they are different titles of the same creatures. The demons, unclean spirits (which are the fallen angels), both seek to possess men, both war against God’s will and ways and want to use humans in this fight.

Luke 11:14-15 And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. So it was, when the demon had gone out, that the mute spoke; and the multitudes marveled. But some of them said, "He casts out demons by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons."

Mark 1:34 and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.” How did they know who Jesus was? (James 2:19, they know who God is)

Are demons and unclean spirits the same or different?

Mark 1:23-26 Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, "Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are-- the Holy One of God!" But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him!" And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him.

Matt 12:43-45 "When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none." Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. "Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation

Luke 4:35-36 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him!" And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him. Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, "What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out."

Jesus never identifies these demons, unclean spirits as those who were once living on earth before Adam.

Mark 9:25-26 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, "Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!" Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, "He is dead."

Luke 9:39 "And behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out; it convulses him so that he foams at the mouth, and it departs from him with great difficulty, bruising him.V:42 And as he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him. Then Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the child, and gave him back to his father.”

Here Jesus makes it clear who the unclean spirits are –demons. And demons are the angels who sinned in heaven.

Luke 8:27-29 And when He stepped out on the land, there met Him a certain man from the city who had demons for a long time. And he wore no clothes, nor did he live in a house but in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!" For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had often seized him, and he was kept under guard, bound with chains and shackles; and he broke the bonds and was driven by the demon into the wilderness.”

Here we see the demon is called an unclean spirit by Jesus. These are not ghosts (spirits) of dead people before Adam was made. The demons are called unclean spirits because of their lack of morality. Immorality is the main demonic activity they promote. Though they are highly intelligent with strong wills, demons not only lie, they often show great anger, or rage (they roar like animals).

Matt 9:31-34 As they went out, behold, they brought to Him a man, mute and demon-possessed. And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke. And the multitudes marveled, saying, "It was never seen like this in Israel!" But the Pharisees said, "He casts out demons by the ruler of the demons."

Luke 11:19-26 "And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. "But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.”

Matt 17:18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. Demons are the same as the unclean spirits, the same as the fallen angels

Acts 8:6-7 unclean spirits, afflict people with palsy, becoming lame. (this does not mean everyone who has this affliction is caused by a demon)

Luke 9:1 Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.”

Luke 10:19-20 "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. V. 20 he then states “the spirits are subject to you.”

Matthew 17:18 speaks of a demon, the parallel account in Mark 9:25 calls it an unclean spirit. These terms are used interchangeably in throughout the New Testament Mt. 8:16; Luke 9:38-39, 42; 10:17, 20.

Demons are spirit beings which were once part of the angels in heaven.

Luke 8:26-33:

When they arrived at Gadarene, v.27 And when He stepped out on the land, there met Him a certain man from the city who had demons for a long time. For it had often seized him, and he was kept under guard, bound with chains and shackles; and he broke the bonds and was driven by the demon into the wilderness. Jesus asked him, saying, "What is your name?" And he said, "Legion," because many demons had entered him. And they begged Him that He would not command them to go out into the abyss. Now a herd of many swine was feeding there on the mountain. And they begged Him that He would permit them to enter them. And He permitted them. Then the demons went out of the man and entered the swine, and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the lake and drowned”

because they are spirit beings that a great number of them can exist in a human body, as in the example of legion. The abyss is the place for demons, a place of temporary confinement where the angels that followed of Satan are cast. Legion, in Luke 8:31 did not wish to be sent to this place of confinement.

Some that are confined there now and will be released during the Great Tribulation. The confined demons are released for five months to torment men Revelation 9:1-11. V:13-21 speaks of two hundred million demons that will kill a third of the world's population.

Matt 25:41"Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:”

Here we have Jesus making it clear they are angels but no longer God’s angels, but the Devils.

Rev 12:7-9 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

When Satan fell he was no longer called Lucifer or the official title of Day-star, son of the morning (Is. 14:12); the anointed cherub that covers (Ezek. 28:14), he was now called Satan, “adversary, along with other titles like “Dragon, Devil, and serpent.” The angels also fell because they followed him were called demons. Fallen angels, demons are never mentioned in scripture as two as different or separate, but the same and find their position and nature changed from this event in heaven.

Luke 4:33-34 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon.” Literally: Which had an unclean spirit, a devil (Gr. pnuema daimonion akarthartou)

Luke 10:17-19 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Notice Jesus connects the demons to Satan’s influence and kingdom, they are our enemy on earth.

Satan is leader of the fallen angels, which the Bible identifies as demons, unclean spirits. The pre-adamic race is a fantasy, there are no spirits of dead people before Adam roaming the earth (which spiritist’s call ghosts). They are called the devil and his angels.

1 Tim 4:1 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons

The spirits will teach lies in the church. The point here is that demons are not pre Adamic spirits of the dead before Adam was made who are teaching these lies in the church.

It becomes spiritual irony of the teachers that are teaching this doctrine in the church.
