Do we have a sin nature or not? The point of the gospel

If people are born without a sin nature than they are sinless, and than Christ is not the only one born without sin. They would be perfect without a sin nature.  What would be the purpose to be brought into the world by a virgin conceiving him by the Holy Spirit’s power? What would be the purpose to die for the sin of perfect people? In fact, this becomes meaningless when one takes the position that sin was not passed down from Adam. Rom. 5:12 “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.”

Since sin began with Adam, all people from that point until now have sinned, there is no one that is righteous, no not even one. Romans 3:10-12 (there is no age limit).

The Bible explicitly says 1 Cor. 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.” We are all from Adam. And the apostle Paul explains the wages of sin is death, this is the reason everyone born dies. We are sinful and are severed from a relationship with God the creator. The only way to change this is to believe in Christ to have this severed relationship reversed.

This does not exclude that we can make right decisions occasionally, but without God we naturally will make wrong decisions. We can temporarily choose not to sin by a very strong exercise of our will and go against our nature, but we will choose to sin more often than not (like the force of gravity) because we have a sin nature. And God’s instructions from his Word is our standard, one cannot know what to choose, what is good or right without knowing it what is good or right (Rom.5:12 the law). sin came into the world through one man, and death came through sin, so death, spread to all because all have sinned:.

One does not become a sinner because they sin, they sin because they are a sinner.  To sin even one time proves that there is the capacity to sin, and the capacity to sin proves that the sin nature is within every person prior to birth.

According to the Bible, to change ones condition, the only way to have a relationship with God, is to believe in and to follow Christ Jesus.

Rom. 5:17 “ For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners”

The state Adam was in after he sinned has every person born after him in the same state, every single person at conception in the womb is contaminated by the sin nature passed on.

As the Bible explains in Rom. 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

God originally created man (mankind) both male and female in his image and likeness. They were alive spiritually, having relationship with their maker. But once sin entered the world, the man and woman both died spiritually immediately, and every person since, is born spiritually dead. Our conscience which is still  of God's image when alive tells us what is right and wrong, but when darkened from sin it is dead and cannot know what is right.

The Bible explains, if mankind did not inherit sin in the womb when conceived, people would not get sick, or die, for we would all be as Adam and Eve in the garden before they became disobedient and had their nature changed to be sinful.

For those who claim to have no sin 1 John 1:10 “If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”You only have to sin once to be in the category of sinning, and this includes thinking wrong, not just your actions.

Gods Word is truth. It tells us only one person after Adam was born without sin. The difference between Adam and Jesus, was that Adam was created with the capacity to choose to sin, Jesus as the Son of God before his human conception always existed as God, and just as it is impossible for God to lie, it is also impossible for Christ, who is God to sin.

Adam lived only a short while before he chose to sin. Jesus went his whole life without sin, and willingly died for our sins by the most heinous of way, suffering by crucifixion by the Roman execution but also having the sins of all mankind laid upon him, being the lamb of God.  This is what he was born to do, as God became a man to bring his solution to our sin.

He brought reconciliation, He was and is the solution for our sins. Providing a restored relationship back to God for all those who acknowledge their sin and trust in his work to remove the eternal penalty for sin. He then gives to all who trust in his work of dying for sin and being raised on the third day eternal life. He offers a life that will continually be transformed daily by faith, as God’s Holy Spirit indwells them.

Jesus promises to all who believe in Him and follow Him, that at their time of death, they will immediately be received into heaven to be in the presence of the Holy Angels and all those who have chosen to also believe in Him throughout the centuries.

This is God’s promise to you too, if you believe and follow the Lord Jesus Christ … The Savior of the World.
