Some important points on the Tribulation and its sequence of events

The Tribulation primary purpose is To make an end to wickedness and the wicked ones.Isa.13:9, Isa.24:19-20, this include both the Jews and gentiles.

The day of the Lord is the most common biblical term for the Great Tribulation. It is a time period mentioned in Jer.30:4-7 called time of Jacob’s troubles relating to the Jewish people. As it was Jacob who wrestled with the Lord until the Lord touch his hip, he was then called a prince and walked with a limp. Israel will wrestle with believing in Jesus as their messiah through the tribulation until they call upon him to come (Zech. 12:10).

Isa.40:1-2 The policy God has set forth is that Israel always receives double for her sins. For they had been given directly the knowledge of God and are more responsible than those who have not been given this knowledge.

During the coming Great Tribulation, God prepares and will preserve a remnant of Israel to spread the great commission to bring about a worldwide revival Mt.24:14: This purpose is given and fulfilled In Revelation 7:1-17 with 144,000 Jewish believers, 12,000 from each tribe spread throughout the world as evangelist. 144,000 Jewish believers who are chosen for a missions are protected in the tribulation, they are sealed.

There will also be tremendous persecution of the saints (verses 9.10), Revelation 6:9-11 those who have been slain then ask in heaven when they will be avenged. We see a great number of Believers dying at the beginning of the tribulation continuing all through it, innumerable (Rev.7). Rev. 7:14, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The false messiah

Rv.6, He is riding on a white horse to bring about a counterfeit peace and safety to the world. The false Christ will promise peace and make an agreement, many see this as the peace treaty with God’s people Israel in Daniel 8:25; Daniel 9:27.

When the Antichrist comes to his time to have power, he will deceive the entire world by his intentions and using satanic empowered false signs and wonders (2 Thess. 2:1-12), as his followers will produce also. They will look like the authentic thing. For those who do not exercise discernment from the Word they will not be able to distinguish them and be deceived. God sends a strong delusion to those who reject the truth. All the world is united in the delusion under the false messiah’s kingship.

The Word also warns that “God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie” (v. 11), because “they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them” and “have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness” (vs. 10, 12).

At this point in the tribulation period all who are believers are being heavily persecute, there are no more new believers mentioned. We read of the people of the world being forced to receive a mark to live in the new socialist order and the believers being eliminated.

Rv. 6:10-11 “ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.

The Saints are being killed all through the Tribulation, from beginning to end.

The Great Tribulation will end when Israel's rebellion against God ends. According to Daniel 9:24, Israel will not stop its rebellion against God until the 70th week for that nation is completed ("to finish the transgression" the word translated "transgress “meaning to rebel).' In other words, Israel's rebellion will end then the 70th Week ends.

The “abomination of desolation,” according to Mt.24:15, will be set up in the middle of the Tribulation in the temple. This abomination is some type an idol, the image of the Antichrist, described in Revelation, chapter 13. Matthew 24:15-28 is a description of the second half of the Tribulation.

Matt 24:15 " Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand).

This is the midpoint of the Tribulation some call the last 3 ˝ years the “great tribulation”

Matt 24:21-22 For then there will be great tribulation , such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.”

The elect are those who go through the Tribulation. The chronological order of the events that occur during the Tribulation is explained symbolically in Revelation, chapters 6, 8, 9, and 16. These judgments increase in intensity as they progress toward their culmination where Christ appears coming in glory to establishes His kingdom.

After the marriage of the Lamb takes place in heaven, Rv. 19:8-10 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints . Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!'"

The marriage of the lamb takes place in heaven, the marriage supper takes place on earth where all the saints of the ages are gathered together in fellowship.

In Mt.24:29-31 we see that, at the conclusion of the Tribulation, there will be a total blackout of the heavenly bodies. Then the only light that is seen will appear, it is the sign of the Son of man coming to earth with his Church and angels. At that time He will also gather up His elect from the four corners of the earth. It is at the end of the Tribulation Christ comes in his Father’s glory and power. When He does, He sends forth His angels to gather from the four winds, from one end of the earth to the other, to gather all of His people, they are the Tribulation saints. Those who turned to the Lord during the Tribulation, who did not take the mark and survived the judgments of the Tribulation period.

Rev 16:16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon .

He, the true messiah (Jesus) comes to establish His world-wide reign of righteousness.

2 Thess. 1:7-10 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe”

2 Thess. 2:8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.’

Both the antichrist/ false messiah and his followers of the nations will be dealt with at Christs coming in the valley of Megiddo where they are gathered.

Rv.19: 11 -15 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”

This ends the rule of sinful man and the government (not governments) will rest upon his shoulder (Isa.9:6) and he will rule mankind with a rod of Iron. ( Ps.2:9; Rv.2:27, 19:15)
