The Urantia Book

The Urantia book is a momentous work consisting of 2,097 pages of material received from numerous celestial beings supposedly brought to the earth by superhuman, divine beings in 1934. It was brought to earth by the “Orvonton administrators” (p. 354), and the “...Nebadon commission of twelve acting under the direction of Mantutia Melchizedek,” (p. 1319). Its claim is that it is the “finest major divine revelation since the coming of Christ to our planet.” However I have a very different view; as it is a momentous false revelation of mans spiritual heritage, spiritual figment of imagination that uses the Bible to promote its own teachings.

The name of any person who received the content of the book has never been revealed, and all are now deceased. The means by which the papers were materialized was unique and is unknown to any living person. The Founder is a noted Chicago physician and psychiatrist Dr. Bill Sadler. The Urantia Book was delivered to him by seven spirit beings in 1934. Between 1934 and 1956 a group of 36 people, who called themselves the Forum, met to study the original manuscripts of the Urantia Book. They incorporated in 1950 as the Urantia Foundation and the book was first published on October 12 1955. In 1996, the Foundation required the Brotherhood to stop using its name; they changed it to the Fifth Epochal Fellowship. The Foundation relented in 1999, and the Fellowship then changed its name to the Urantia Fellowship.

Herein lies the first contradictory teaching to the Bible which warns of Spiritism (Deut.18:10-12), mediums and other such means in receiving spiritual instruction. Unbeknownst to Sadler who engaged in conversations with his “spirit visitors” on a regular basis, he was trafficking in the occult.
Lev. 19:31 “Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits”
Lev. 20:6 “And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.” Punishment in Israel was severe Lev. 20:27 'A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, was to be put to death so they would not defile the people. King Saul when he no longer was hearing from God sought out a medium to communicate.
The Bible explains that the Holy Spirit through its authors have given us God's word for all time. It is complete (2 Tim.3:16-17) and perfect. The apostle warns of anyone giving any other gospel that counters the Bible Gal.1:8-10 (which the Urantia book does, all one has to do is ask if they agree with all it precepts and teachings and will be given a definite NO.)

The purported superhuman authorship of the book is the basis upon which it claims to reveal data that would be inaccessible to mortal man. The purpose of the book is claimed to be a clarification of man's “divine and eternal destiny.”(Basic Concepts, p.1). It asserts it was received through spirit dictation and preaches universality of all religions. It’s concern is with “the spiritual regeneration and evolutionary advancement of mankind through Truths “unencumbered by tradition and dogma” are revealed about Jesus' life, teachings, death and resurrection.(The Urantia Book brochure Urantia Foundation, 1955). Just as animals evolved into humans, humans destined to evolve into spirit beings, called finaliters.

They believe it is like other sacred texts yet superior, the contents of the book are to be evaluated by the “fruits of the spirit” which they produce. In this way there is no authoritative truth but only measured by it subjective effect on an individual.

The book consists of deep and profound philosophical ramblings and shrewd conglomerations of Bible stories and history, as well as other religions. It certainly has the air of being given by a higher intelligence, one that is able to manipulate words and concepts far beyond any human being. At first when reading it (Depending on which portion), it seems biblical and even possible as it proposes new information about God. Much like the book of Mormon it offers more knowledge on Jesus, the destiny of man, our relationship to God and our planet and the universes history.

It is very deceptive as it is shrouded in both biblical and esoteric language and for the ungrounded in truth it can be an false influence. (The only book that is comparable is the channeled book the Course of Miracles. However it is an infant compared to this book). Its purpose is to challenge and distort the Bible as it constantly changes events and persons to be something else. Using the premise and principles and even biblical language these being(s) manipulate the Scripture to a whole new system that only the intelligencia is able to come near to comprehend. When I say near, I mean that even the short sentences are soaked with a plethora of complex spiritual mumbo jumbo that seems to first make sense but its context still eludes you. Of course I can be dismissed as a spiritual infant unable to understand its meaning, yet this is my position and reading the quotes you will see what I mean.

The book is divided into four main sections. Part I describes the central and super universe God as Father, Universal Spirit and Trinity, and various spirit entities. Part 2 deals with our local universe, Nebadon, whose capital is Salvington and has 10 million inhabited worlds. The book tells of the origin and evolution of the central and super-universes, our local universe and the history of our planet Urantia; located in super universe Orvonton, whose capital is Uversa. Part 3 is a history of Urantia, which is the name by which the earth is known to the other beings. Part IV contains a biography of Jesus (Seven hundred pages) including a detailed discussion of the hidden years (from age twelve to the beginning of his public ministry). The Foundation claims this account of Christ's life and teachings is “much more complete than that of -the New Testament, but not contradictory” (Basic Concepts, p. 30). This information is said to be supplied by “a sort of guardian angel of the Apostle Andrew- (ibid.).

According to The Urantia Book, Jesus was born August 21, 7 B.C., had an excellent education, became a skilled carpenter, began a Mediterranean tour in his twenty-eighth year and began his public ministry in 27 A.D. After more than three years, his ministry ended in the crucifixion and resurrection.

The Urantia Book teaches that these beings were created by a God who wished to share the joy and adventure of being to the furthest extent possible. This God dwells in the Isle of Paradise located in the center of the universe of universes.

There is evolution taking place in the many universes involving both matter and personalities. These personalities exist on millions of planets and spheres.

The universe depicted in the Urantia Book has seven levels. The first level, the Isle of Paradise, is the center of the universe around which the other levels form six concentric ellipses. (p.129)

The book gives dates and times that clearly try to give validity to its accuracy of the message contained in its 2,097 pages. I would suggest that any extensive reading should be done with a bottle of aspirin close at hand.

987,000,000,000 years ago associate force organizer and then acting inspector number 811,307 of the Orvonton series, traveling out from Uversa, reported to the Ancients of Days that space conditions were favorable for the initiation of materialization phenomena in a certain sector of the, then, easterly segment of Orvonton.” “875,000,000,000 years ago the enormous Andronover nebula number 876,926 was duly initiated.” If this sounds like a science fiction movie (star wars perhaps) you may be right.

Next to Havona is the Grand Universe which includes seven Superuniverses, each containing 700,000 local universes. Those Superuniverses revolve around Havona. A local universe called Nebadon lies on the outer edge of the Superuniverse named Orvonton. The planet Urantia, known to us as “earth,” revolves within Nebadon.

From here there is a countdown of various years and stages for the creation of the universe and the earth. “1,000,000,000 years ago is the date of the actual beginning of Urantia history. The planet had attained approximately its present size. And about this time it was placed upon the physical registries of Nebadon and given its name, Urantia.”

“It was at about this time that Urantia was assigned to the system of Satania for planetary administration and was placed on the life registry of Norlatiadek.” This all reminds me of much of the new age and its word assimilation’s or scrambling. Such as Sanat Kumura- notice the same Satania both having the word Satan in it. Is it coincidence or possibly a fingerprint that he is involved?

900,000,000 years ago witnessed the arrival on Urantia of the first Satania scouting party sent out from Jerusem to examine the planet and make a report on its adaptation for a life-experiment station. This commission consisted of twenty-four members, embracing Life Carriers, Lanonandek Sons, Melchizedeks, seraphim, and other orders of celestial life having to do with the early days of planetary organization and administration.” Notice again a word similar to Jerusalem, the concept of twenty-four (elders) Melchizedek(s) (plural) Seraphim which are all biblical terms persons and beings. What they are proposing is a start of life in this sector of the Galaxy. If someone made a sci-fi picture out of this it would probably do well.

Earth has a long history “The second Eden was the cradle of civilization for almost thirty thousand years. (35,000B.C.)

“These ideas of monotheism matured all over the world not long after the appearance of Machiventa Melchizedek at Salem in Palestine.” this was one of the purposes of Melchizedek's incarnation: That a religion of one God should be so fostered as to prepare the way for the earth bestowal of a Son of that one God. Michael could hardly come to Urantia until there existed a people believing in the Universal Father among whom he could appear.” Again biblical terms but the story is changed. Notice michael is the son of God, something that cults believed especially in the 1800’s.

They have many deities- Supreme Beings, Ascending Beings, Sons of God, and sub divine beings ad infinitum. Within each Order there may be anywhere from a few thousand to many millions of beings (The Urantia Book, pp. 330-344). The Urantia Book speaks of a Trinity of Trinities, three sets of three deities. One Trinity is existential (actual and without origin), and the other two are experiential (potential and with origin). The existential Trinity is called the Paradise Trinity and consists of the Universal Father, the Eternal Son and the Infinite Spirit. The Universal Father is considered creator, controller and upholder of all things. He started the whole process of evolution because he “willed not to be self-contained.” (The Paradise Trinity is supreme, consisting of the Universal Father, the Eternal Son, and the Infinite Spirit.) “ The two experiential Trinities are called the Ultimate Trinity and the Absolute Trinity. Both Trinities are finite, derived and evolving. At some point in the eternal future those two Trinities, when actualized, will complement the personalities of the Paradise Trinity ( p. 13.)

Celestial designations are given describing spiritual positions and places such as Salvington, Divington, Nebadon.

DIVININGTON. “This world is, in a unique sense, the “bosom of the Father,” the personal-communion sphere of the Universal Father, and thereon is a special manifestation of his divinity. Divinington is the Paradise rendezvous of the Thought Adjusters, but it is also the home of numerous other entities, personalities, and other beings taking origin in the Universal Father. Many personalities besides the Eternal Son are of direct origin by the solitary acts of the Universal Father.”(p.144)

The book teaches that the eternal Father-Creator created the Eternal Son and the Infinite Spirit, and yet it claims they exist eternally. Their theology is similar to the Gnostic cults, “Proceeding from this creation, he “down stepped himself further in the creation of many additional divine personalities, less than absolute, more and more nearly approaching the finite” (Basic Concepts, p, 2).

Each local universe was formed and is ruled by a Creator Son. The Universal Father, in conjunction with the Eternal Son, brought into, existence those “only-begotten” Creator Sons. Although they are all unique, they all embody the characteristics of the Universal Father and the Eternal Son. They are all part of the Order of Michael. (pp. 224-.234)

“When a Son of the Eternal Son appeared on Urantia, those who fraternized with this divine being in human form alluded to him as “He who was from the beginning, whom we have heard, whom we have seen with our eyes, whom we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, even the Word of life” (p.74.)

“On your world, but not in your system of inhabited spheres, this Original Son has been confused with a co-ordinate Creator Son, Michael of Nebadon (Jesus of Nazareth), who bestowed himself upon the mortal races of Urantia” (Ibid)

The Only Begotten Son of God, in the URANTIA book is a mute subject. They present a different Jesus from the Bible, though they may quote the Bible He is not the same Jesus as the Bible’s. Prior to His Earthly life, Jesus' real name was Michael of Nebadon. Jesus perfected his divinity by seven incarnations among various creatures of the Universe. His seventh incarnation on Urantia as Michael of Nebadon (p. 1323) “Our Creator Son (another Order of beings) is the personification of the 611,121st original concept of infinite identity of simultaneous origin in the Universal Father and the Eternal Son.

“The Michael of Nebadon is the `only-begotten Son' personalizing this 611,121st universal concept of divinity and infinity,” (p.366 ). Jesus (Michael) is the Son of the Son of God and the Father in the sense that when these two beings had a simultaneous original thought for the 611,121st time, Jesus (Michael) was begotten.”

Jesus (they refer to him by his real name Joshua ben Joseph) is the 7th incarnation of Michael of Nebadon, the 611,121st Creator Son of God. He is attributed to be the creator of this sector (local) of the Universe “It was scarcely a million years subsequent to this epoch that Michael of Nebadon, a Creator Son of Paradise, selected this disintegrating nebula as the site of his adventure in universe building.” So begins the story of Urantia.

The book of Urantia teaches of the hidden years of Christ, from age twelve to his public ministry. It asserts to show the “religion of Jesus,” not the “religion about Jesus.” The Urantia Book’s Christ is only one of the divine sons of God who incarnated himself on Urantia. His purpose was to help us mortals realize that we too are sons of God. He is the wayshower, he is the creator of our local universe, and his incarnation on Urantia was the seventh time he had come to live among creatures of his universe.

All descending Sons of God have high and divine origins (p. 223.)

Of the numerous orders of descending Sons, seven will be depicted in these narratives. Those Sons who come forth from the Deities on the central Isle of Light and Life are called the Paradise Sons of God and embrace the following three orders: 1) Creator Sons--the Michaels; 2) Magisterial Sons--the Avonals; and 3) Trinity Teacher Sons--the Daynals. (p. 223.)

As they function in the superuniverse of Orvonton, the Sons of God are classified under three general heads: 1) the descending Sons of God; 2) the ascending Sons of God; and the trinitized Sons of God. (ibid.)

All Religion is corrupted

“Religious tradition is the imperfectly preserved record of the experiences of the God-knowing men of past ages, but such records are untrustworthy as guides for religious living or as the source of true information about the Universal Father. Such ancient beliefs have been invariably altered by the fact that primitive man was a mythmaker. “

They claim we are in confusion on planet earth (Urantia) because the religions presented by various communications as coming from God himself when they came from various orders of celestial beings. “Urantian religious thought still confuses the associate personalities of Deity with the Universal Father himself, so that all are included under one appellation.”

We continue to “suffer from the influence of primitive concepts of God.” The gods who “shake the earth in their wrath” and “ inflict their judgments of displeasure in times of famine and flood” “are the gods of primitive religion; they are not the Gods who live and rule the universes.”(p.60)

While the Urantia book claims to give an accurate account of Christ it challenges the Bibles record as well as Jesus’ own words as true. Keep in mind that they claim all the religious books are corrupted, lest it become to obvious that it is an attack on the Bibles authority only. But this is exactly what we find interlaced throughout its pages. The Urantia Book says that, although “Christianity does contain more of the Master's gospel than any other religion,” it made “two great mistakes”: 1 ) . . . the teaching that Jesus was the sacrificed Son who would satisfy the Father's stem justice and appease the divine wrath (and)2 )...to organize the Christian teaching so completely about the person of Jesus.

We are told Christ toured the Roman Empire with two people from India in the years preceding his ministry. Jesus has six instead of the Bibles three years of ministry. His life ended by crucifixion, the cross being unnecessary since: “ The Father in Paradise did not decree, demand, or require the death of his Son. All of this was man's doing; not God's” (p. 2002).

It is these two points the attack is focused on Person and the work of Christ. The New Testament affirms is essential to salvation without it there is no Christianity. The source of the book is well aware of Bibles teaching and does not stop to distort or belittle it. They teach Adam and Eve did not “fall into sin,” that people today do not suffer from original sin, and do not need to be redeemed by the blood of Christ.

The substitutionary atonement are viewed in the revelation of the Urantia book as grotesque invented by primitive men.

“Primitive man believed that something special must be done to win the favor of the gods; only advanced civilization recognizes a consistently even-tempered and benevolent God” (p.974)

“Appeasing an angry God,” “ through sacrifices and penance and even by the shedding of blood,” is barbarous and a primitive, religion “ unworthy of an enlightened age of science and truth.” “Jesus did not come to Urantia to placate a God of wrath, nor to offer himself as a ransom by dying on the cross. The cross was wholly man's doing, not God's requirement- (Basic concepts, P. 3). This is the same concept promoted by Benjamen Crème a New Ager who thinks of the Christian religion as worthless having a blood sacrifice. The Bible teaches that the blood of Christ, shed on the cross, is God’s only means to be made right and receive forgiveness from God. (Romans 5:9, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 9:22.)

“The bestowal of a Paradise Son on your world was inherent in the situation of closing a planetary age; it was inescapable, and it was not made necessary for the purpose of winning the favor of God.” “This teaching that his fatherly heart in all its austere coldness and hardness was so untouched by the misfortunes and sorrows of his creatures that his tender mercies were not forthcoming until he saw his blameless Son bleeding and dying upon the cross of Calvary! (p. 60.5)

They misrepresent the Bible as they teach “The Hebrews believed that “without the shedding of blood there could be no remission of sin.” They had not found deliverance from the old and pagan idea that the Gods could not be appeased except by the sight of blood, though Moses did make a distinct advance when he forbade human sacrifices.”

The Hebrews never sacrificed humans but animals and it was given as an order from God to show the significance of what sin does. Speaking of Moses Heb. 11:28 “By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood.” The sacrifices were not pagan at all but a command from God from the time Of Adam when had slain the first animal.(Gen.3:24; 4:2-7)

Upon the death of Moses his lofty concept of Yahweh rapidly deteriorated. Joshua and the leaders of Israel continued to harbor the Mosaic traditions of the all-wise, beneficent, and almighty God, but the common people rapidly reverted to the older desert idea of Yahweh. And this backward drift of the concept of Deity continued increasingly under the successive rule of the various tribal sheiks, the so-called Judges.”(p.1059:2,96:61)

The whole Christian religion is repudiated in one sentence: “The cardinal religious ideas of - inspiration, revelation, propitiation, repentance, atonement, intercession, sacrifice, prayer, confession, worship, survival after death, sacrament, ritual, ransom, salvation, redemption, covenant, uncleaness, Purification, prophesy, original sin they all go back to the early times of primordial ghost fear.” (p.1005) The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is denied. “His material or physical body was not part of the resurrected personality. . . the body of flesh m which he lived . . . was still lying there in the sepulchre.” p. 2021, 2023, 2024 - 1313. )

The underlying message

Their goal and message is to unify all religions and have them abandon their particular teachings for another spiritual unity. “We believe in every church and in all forms of worship,” (URANTIA Brotherhood Bulletin, Vol. 6, No. 1, p. 4). With this attitude in mind, and in their own peculiar way, they hope to unite “...all world religions and all world religionists,” (Bulletin, Supplement, p. 1). All world religions “are of value in that they are valid approaches to the religion of Jesus.”(p. 67) This of course relegates the Bibles revelation to no more or less than any other book which they claim is corrupted. They claim to welcome Christians into their membership but it is only to unite with others, “The teachers of the religion of Jesus should approach other religions with the recognition of the truths which are held in common (many of which come directly or indirectly, from Jesus' message) while they refrain from placing so much emphasis on the differences.” (p.1670-71) In fact the spirituality that is promoted has the same goals as Bahai, unity of all religions. “The Fatherhood of God and the universal brotherhood of all men” (p. 1085)

They challenge of the Bibles claim we are sinners “Ancient man only attained consciousness of favor with God through sacrifice. Modern man must develop new techniques of achieving the self-consciousness of salvation. The consciousness of sin persists in the mortal mind, but the thought patterns of salvation therefrom have become outworn and antiquated.” “The sense or feeling of guilt is the consciousness of the violation of the mores; it is not necessarily sin. There is no real sin in the absence of conscious disloyalty to Deity.” The bible says that we sin when we transgress the standard of God, his commands knowingly or not. That it is inherent in our nature. The Urantia Book challenges this. “But confession -- sincere recognition of the nature of sin -- is essential to religious growth and spiritual progress.”

The forgiveness of sin by Deity is the renewal of loyalty relations following a period of the human consciousness of the lapse of such relations as the consequence of conscious rebellion. The forgiveness does not have to be sought, only received as the consciousness of re-establishment of loyalty relations between the creature and the Creator.” (p.985:1) 89:10.6 Could anyone who is not in further education understand this? In this way much of what is said seems heavy

“Many races have conceived of their leaders as being born of virgins… their return is always expected by their respective groups. In central Asia the tribesmen still look for the return of Genghis Khan; in Tibet, China, and India it is Buddha; in Islam it is Mohammed; among the Amerinds it was Hesunanin Onamonalonton; with the Hebrews it was, in general, Adam's return as a material ruler. …Following the appearance of Adam on earth, so-called sons of God were common among the world races.” (p.1008:5,92:5.3 )

There is no such tradition I have ever heard of where Adam would reappear.

The book lures people into believing that it is revealing secret knowledge for the initiative of this gnosis “The secrets of Sonarington include the secret of the incarnation of the divine Sons. When a Son of God becomes a Son of Man, is literally born of woman, as occurred on your world nineteen hundred years ago, it is a universal mystery. It is occurring right along throughout the universes, and it is a Sonarington secret of divine sonship. The Adjusters are a mystery of God the Father. The incarnation of the divine Sons is a mystery of God the Son; it is a secret locked up in the seventh sector of Sonarington, a realm penetrated by none save those who have personally passed through this unique experience.”(p.145) They teach this act of virgin birth is repeated in the universe in many different times. Again it attacks the unique Son of God.

The Bibles message of Jesus as the unique Son of God is challenged, as are the authors.

The Gospel of John “ John did not write it, he did inspire it.”(p.1342:5, 121:8.10)[In the year A.D. 101 he encouraged his associate, Nathan, a Greek Jew from Caesarea, to begin the writing.] This goes against the Scripture where it says they did, making them a liar.

John 20:31 “but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”

John speaking of himself says in John 21:24 “This is the disciple who testifies of these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true.”

All things considered one has to deal with the clear words written from John Himself.

I Jn 1:1-4 “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life--the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us--that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.”

I Jn 2:7 “Brethren, I write no new commandment to you,

I Jn 2:21 “I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.” One must make a choice if what the Urantia book says is true or the Bible is true

I Jn 2:26These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.” These words of John need to be heeded by those who believe the Urantias books message.

I Jn 5:13 “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

John is told by Jesus personally in Rev 1:19 “Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this”

Paul writes in Gal 6:11 “See with what large letters I have written to you with my own hand!”

Some other challenges of the Bibles record

The seraphim of Urantia, … did sing anthems of glory over the Bethlehem manger, but these utterances of praise were not heard by human ears. No shepherds nor any other mortal creatures came to pay homage to the babe of Bethlehem until the day of the arrival of certain priests from Ur, who were sent down from Jerusalem by Zacharias.”(1352:1,122:8.5)

This goes against the Scriptures teaching that the shepherds did hear the angels in the field and consequently visited the babe in the manger. Zacharias who was John the baptizers father certainly did not have contact with UR.

The Bible has this to say--Luke 2:13-146 “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.

The challenge of the Scripture is consistently seen throughout this book.

“Jesus led men to feel at home in the world; 'he delivered theirs from the slavery of taboo and taught there that the world was not fundamentally evil. He did not long `to escape from his `earthly life; he mastered a technique of acceptably doing the Father's will while in the flesh. He attained an idealistic religious life in the Very midst of a realistic world: Jesus did not share Paul's pessimistic view of humankind. The Master looked upon men as the sons of God and foresaw a magnificient and eternal future' for those who chose survival.”(196:2.11)

Jesus did indeed see the world as fallen, sinful, wicked John 1:4-5 “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

John 8:12Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." John 12:46 “I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.”

Jesus told his disciples to be in the world but not of it. That they were passing through to be with him later on and not to love the world. “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him”( I Jn. 2:15)

John 15:19”If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

John 17:15-16 “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. “They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”

Other Bible distortions

Jesus adopted the term “Son of Man” at age fifteen after reading a passage in the so-called Book of Enoch (p. 1390).

During his twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth years on Earth, Jesus toured the Roman world, accompanied by two natives from India (p. 1427). This implies as other books that he may have been familiar with the eastern concept of reincarnation and other teachings and that he did not teach Judaism.

In regards to Paul's (“pessimistic view of humankind”) doctrine regarding atonement which meant that we are sinners in need of forgiveness through the cross they say “ unnecessarily encumbered Christianity with teachings about blood and sacrifice. . .” (p. 984).

Heb.9:22 “And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Rom 5:9 “having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.”

Human Potentiality as God

“The adventure of divinity attainment lies before you! The race for perfection is on! Whosoever will may enter, and certain victory will crown the efforts of every human being who will run the race of faith and trust, depending every step of the way on the leading of the indwelling Adjuster and on the guidance of the good spirit of the Universal Son, which so freely has been poured out upon all flesh.” [The Urantia Book, 365.4] This is not the faith delivered to the saints by the bible but then they do not take this position. As we can see they use biblical terms and phrases to make it a competitor for the truth.

“John asked Jesus, `Master, what is the kingdom of heaven?' And Jesus answered: `The kingdom of heaven consists in these three essentials: first, recognition of the fact of the sovereignty of God; second, belief in the truth of sonship with God; and third, faith in the effectiveness of the supreme human desire to do the will of God-to be like God. And this is the good news of the gospel: that by faith every mortal may- have all these essentials of salvation.”' (pp. 1585-86)

“ the living spirit relationship of all things and all beings as they are co-ordinated in the eternal ascent Godward.” This teaching according to the bible is the very same that had Lucifer rebel, wanting to be like God, a dream throughout all ages for mankind.(p.646:4,56:10.3)

“God...who dwells, by his spirit, in every sincere human soul”(p. 1453.)

“God is our Father because part of his divine spirit dwells within each one of US.”

“There dwells within you a fragment of the Universal Father, and you are thus directly related to the divine Father and all the Sons of God,” (p. 448). This is pantheism and is the pagan belief that they so readily reject in the book. Having a fragment of God's spirit dwells within each person is called a Thought Adjuster. That is to guide the individual towards greater spiritual understanding through many lives as they evolve on other worlds.

“To finite man truth, beauty, and goodness embrace the full revelation of divinity reality. As this love-comprehension of Deity finds spiritual expression in the lives of God-knowing mortals, there are yielded the fruits of divinity: intellectual peace, social progress, moral satisfaction, spiritual joy, and cosmic wisdom. The advanced mortals on a world in the seventh stage of light and life have learned that love is the greatest thing in the universe -- and they know that God is love.”(p.648:3,56:10.20)God is love is right out of the bible. Love is not the greatest thing in the universe, God is.

The human potential according to Urantia revelations: “The supreme beauty, the height of finite art, is the drama of the unification of the vastness of the cosmic extremes of Creator and creature. Man finding God and God finding man -- the creature becoming perfect as is the Creator -- that is the supernal achievement of the supremely beautiful, the attainment of the apex of cosmic art.”

God created some of these beings in an exalted state, while others he created in the lowest possible stage of existence, from which they evolved to the human stage, which is “evolved to the point when- it can be indwelt by a spark of eternal divinity “ (Basic Concepts, p. 2) Urantia Theology resembles the Hindu concept of transmigration where the soul is seen to pass from the lowest stages to humanity, then to godhood, it is the spiritual evolution of the New Age. After this life we pass on through millions of other spheres of training. The next one is the mansion worlds of Satania. All this life experience of both ascenders (mortals) and descenders is gradually bring synthesized and coordinated into an evolving, universal consciousness. a growing oversoul of all creation. Eventually to be personalized as the Supreme Bring.” (Basic Concepts)

In other words, as humanity- evolves, the first person of the Ultimate Trinity is actualized. Attaining the presence of the Universal Father and helping to actualize the Ultimate Trinity is the goal and the end of a person's spiritual journey. Hr/she has completed “the age-long process from animal to angel and from angel to spirit anti from spirit to God” (p.558 Basic Concepts). The early form of Gnosticism posited that a system of spirit beings emanate from God and exert authority over people's lives. Paul referred to those spirit brings as “powers and authorities” (Col. 1:16; 2:15)

“The only creation that is perfectly settled is Havona, the central universe, which was made directly by the thought of the Universal Father and the word of the Eternal Son. Havona is an existential, perfect, and replete universe, surrounding the home of the eternal Deities, the center of all things. The creations of the seven superuniverses are finite, evolutionary, and consistently progressive.” (p.360:3, 32:3.1)

PAPER 96 YAHWEH-GOD OF THE HEBREWS in conceiving of Deity, man first includes all gods, then subordinates all foreign gods to his tribal deity, and finally excludes all but the one God of final and supreme value. The Jews synthesized all gods into their more sublime concept of the Lord God of Israel.” The bible teaches the very opposite, that man began with the correct knowledge and left it for multiple gods(polytheism). (p.1052)

DIVININGTON. This world is, in a unique sense, the “bosom of the Father,” the personal-communion sphere of the Universal Father, and thereon is a special manifestation of his divinity. Divinington is the Paradise rendezvous of the Thought Adjusters, Many personalities besides the Eternal Son are of direct origin by the solitary acts of the Universal Father. Only the Father fragments and those personalities and other beings of direct and exclusive origin in the Universal Father fraternize and function on this abode.

Thought Adjusters are of the very essence and nature of God they are the “undiluted . . . parts of Deity” who guide humans on the path of spiritual progress through countless lifetimes on other planets, The Thought Adjusters are the bestowed spirit of the Universal Father. That indwelling spirit or fragment of God is called a Thought Adjuster. They are not created but proceed directly from the Father. Contact with the lowly creatures of the evolutionary worlds is a secret of this Paradise sphere.” “The Adjuster's would be if such a voice could be heard. Conscience.”

SONARINGTON. This sphere is the “bosom of the Son,” the personal receiving world of the Eternal Son. It is the Paradise headquarters of the descending and ascending Sons of God when, and after, they are fully accredited and finally approved. This world is the Paradise home for all Sons of the Eternal Son and of his co-ordinate and associate Sons.(p.145) This sounds like a spiritual school venture a classroom in space.

We need to ask how would God speak to humanity if he wanted to communicate with the average person on earth. Would it be beyond our means of understanding like the Urantia book is written or like the Bible is written.

The Urantia book is nothing less than new age gnostic enlightenment with a space age twist. It attracts the pride of man. It is deceptive in its approach by claiming to correct all religious books, as well as challenging God as the author and keeper of His truth found in the Bible. Paul preached the gospel “not with the wisdom of words, lest the cross be made of no effect.” (1Cor. 1:17) “The world through Wisdom did not come to know God.” (V.21) The Urantia’s revelation proposes in the place of the Bibles revelation extra-Biblical and contradictory information, opposing the core doctrines of Christianity.

Galatians 1:8, “but even though we, or an angel from heaven, would preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.” This book and its authors are cursed according to the Bible. And those who follow its teachings are according to the apostle Paul. The real issue comes down to authority. One trusting a book whose authors are unknown who claim superior knowledge of past events changing the people and places to be what they want. Or do we trust the eyewitnesses and the authors of the accounts of Jesus with its accurate history kept by the Holy Spirit of God. Is it any wonder the Urantia book calls them holy spirit adjusters, since this other spirit wants to revision everything God has said. Reliability of Scripture is denied and challenged. (P. 838)

We know who was the challenger of the word God spoke in the beginning, the same one who has challenged God in this book. Time has not changed his ways

Since the Urantia book presents a Jesus that is not the same as the Bible, it cannot be God inspired nor accurate on what it adds to the Bible.
