The church has always taught from the scripture that Jesus is 100% human and 100% deity (preexisting as the Son of God i.e. “the word” before His incarnation).  If Jesus did not have Mary’s DNA then he would not be 100% human as he was 100% deity and he could not redeem mankind.

Phil. 2:7-8 “and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man” What made him different is that His life, His Spirit was God.

The Bible term en sarki in flesh (2 Tim. 3:16) and became flesh (Jn. 1:14), means Jesus has a human nature, 100% humanity. Became in Greek is ginomai, it means to cause, or become what it was not before. The Son who had pre-existence as God assumed a human body, became humanity as Jesus, that He had blood and a physical body, He was fully human.

He is the SEED of the woman; the Messiah was to be born of a virgin, born without a mans seed but as promised the seed of the woman (Gen.3:15; Isa. 7:14). Hebrews 10:6 “Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me.” (this being through the virgin conception of Mary).

To save mankind he had to be a Kinsman redeemer. The Bible says God sent forth His Son, born of a woman” (Gal. 4:4) and that he was born a Jew in the flesh, (Jn.1:11, 4:9). The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham: (Matt 1:1). You cannot be the son of any of these unless there is a lineage. This becomes a denial of his full humanity with deity.  “Concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, (Rom 1:3). He could not be called the Son of David or the Son of Man unless he was born into the Jewish lineage. 2 Tim. 2:8 “Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel.” Jesus himself says, “I am the Root and the Offspring of David” (Rev.22:16-17). This came through Mary.

1 Cor. 15:45 And so it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” If the first Adam was ac man then this could not be said of Jesus if he did not have a human body, which would come from Mary. The word Adam means man.

Heb. 2:14 “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same….”The difference was the sinless blood.

“He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight” (Col. 1:21-22)

Heb .10:12 “But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.” It even says he is a man after the resurrection in1 Tim.2:5.

To deny he was human is a doctrine of the Gnostics, and according to the Bible it is antichrist

John 4:2 says, “By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God.” Jesus is God who came in the flesh ONCE, He took up flesh, died and rose in the flesh, and is still in the flesh. Verse 3 the denial that John addresses “every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.” Meaning a denial of his incarnation of being a man is not of God’s spirit.

When the Son of God took on human flesh He added another nature to His deity, humanity. He was one person, with two natures.

 Much of this teaching comes from William Branham who not only denied he was of Mary but that he was not Jewish. Because of the respect given to Branham his false teaching on this was also propagated to many.

There is also another false teaching that circulates that is the opposite of this; that Jesus left his deity in heaven. Then who was sent to earth to become man? This too is a denial of the incarnation.
