Warm winds are blowing pt.2

History repeats itself…

Cardinal Bea was Pope Pius XII's personal confessor, and president of the Secretariat for Promotion of Christian Unity. He sought out David DuPlessis (known as "Mr. Pentecost"), whom he invited to the third session of the Second Vatican Council. (Time (Oct. 27, 1961), 62.

Bea saw the charismatic movement as a vehicle for Rome's ecumenical goals. David DuPlessis and others quickly responded to Rome’s invitation.

In 1962 David DuPlessis received a letter saying that his papers as a minister with the Assemblies of God were being pulled. The mainline Pentecostals were no longer calling him to speak at their meetings, though the rest of the Christian world was.

Duplesis initiated a series of dialogues between the Roman Catholic Church and a team of Pentecostals led by himself in 1972. Vatican II’s desire to understand the growing Charismatic Renewal going on around the world in Catholic churches, reached out to Duplesis.

Because he did not belong to any of the formal Pentecostal denominations, he became the perfect middleman for the job. As many wanted healing to the strained relationships between mainline Pentecostal denominational churches and Catholic churches around the world, especially in South America. These dialogues spanned four- or five-year periods continuing into the 1990’s. On the Catholic side, Father Kilian McDonnell. Martin Robinson described David as “the chief architect”7 of these talks, and as being instrumental to the tone and camaraderie of the discussions.

In 1975 David DuPlessis (known as Mr. Pentecost) was called upon by Pope Paul VI to create and mediate the Roman Catholic-Pentecostal Dialogues. The purposes of the dialogues were to foster understanding and to create room within the Roman Catholic Churches for the many Roman Catholic members who were fleeing the Church for Pentecostal Churches and denominations.  The Pope thought that by creating this partnership the Roman Catholic members would be kept in the fold.

David Duplessis visit to Medjugorje certainly helped. . . he concluded what he experienced was . . . a revival, the likes of which he," had given up seeing in his lifetime, and he spotted no "bad fruit."" He concluded the heavenly apparitions,"' were "of God". . . (Paul Crouch, "Praise the Lord," October 1996, p. 1 referenced in Dave Hunt’s, “Occult Invasion”)

During this time period of renewed discussions for unity Harald Bredesen, an original founding members of the board of the "700 Club" a long-time confidant and advisor to Pat Robertson. Wrote this letter to the Pope September 29, 1988:

Your Holiness and dear Pope John Paul II,

Too many Protestant Evangelicals have long since made up their minds about Roman Catholicism...They fail to notice the mighty Gospel wind that also moves with such force [in Roman Catholicism)....

My heart is moved by a dream, Your Holiness. It is this: that what has already been discovered by men such as David and Justus DuPlessis, Billy Graham, Pat Robertson, Richard Neuhaus...regarding the riches and depth of Catholic piety, must become common knowledge among Evangelical Protestants everywhere....

What we envision [is]...a spiritual peace treaty, signed before the eyes of the world [by]...Evangelical Protestants and Catholics joining together to single out the Pope of Rome as the man most worthy of receiving the Prince of Peace Prize....

Using as a staging ground the week-long prince of peace celebration [in Rome in 1990], we believe it possible to give one of the most dramatic demonstrations of Christian oneness since the days of the early church....It could and should mark the beginning of a new spirit of cooperation in evangelistic efforts as we anticipate together the year 2000....” (excerpt from Bredesen's letter to Pope)

There you have it in nutshell, he calls the Pope your holiness. He was writing to the man who denies the gospel for salvation as deserving the prince of peace prize. One has to consider a lack of understanding the gospel on Bredesen’s part. And He supported ECT evangelicals and Catholics together ignoring that Catholics doing works is part of their salvation. What a travesty.

"Matteo Calisi is an international leader of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church.-
In 1992, together with the Pentecostal Pastor Rev. Dr. Giovanni Traettino (Bishop-Chairman of the Evangelical Church of the Reconciliation), Matteo founded Consultazione Carismatica Italiana (Italian Charismatic Consultation – CCI), a joint committee of Catholic Charismatics and Pentecostal Evangelicals, which started a dialogue between Catholics and Pentecostals in Italy. Presently Matteo is Co-President of CCI together with Rev. Traettino.

Together with some Evangelical and Catholic Argentinean leaders, Matteo founded the Comuniòn Renovada entre Catòlicos y Evangelicos en el Espiritu Santo (CRECES). This was the first joint statement in the history of the dialogue between Catholics and Evangelicals in Argentina. He had great support by Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, then Metropolitan Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Primate of the Catholic Church in Argentina and President of Bishops’ Conference of Argentina." Who is now Rome’s Pope.

So the way to soften the divide is to say we are all Catholics (as Palmer did). “Catholic” does means universal (in a generic sense), this term alone does not prove that we are one, nor does it solidify the vast differences. Using this terminology we are all Catholics now is intended on leading us to accept papal authority over non catholic churches. For that is the zenith of the pyramid to Rome.

The Pope is always declared to be the “substitute [vicar] of the Son of God”, “Christ on earth”,

"the Roman Pontiff, by reason of his office as Vicar of Christ, and as pastor of the entire Church has full, supreme, and universal power over the whole Church, a power which he can always exercise unhindered." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 882)

Roman Catholicism is a belief system of members being under a man who claims to be appointed by Peter in a line of successors from Christ. Where in the Bible did it ever teach about successors to an office that it does not mention! It doesn’t exist! It’s made up by a church who wants power over the people instead for the people.

Let me make these points as simple as possible. We are told not to add or take away from the Scripture. If you want to follow Jesus, John says it like this, “Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son” (2 John 9–10).

The traditions in the Roman Catholic church go far beyond the teaching of Christ which is in the word. They violate a number of Scriptures and principles. They add to the word and distort the actual meanings. They take what is symbolic to be literal and what is literal symbolic. They even claim their traditions which came thousands of years later came from the apostles. Which one said what tradition and to whom was it passed down to is never answered. Because the question is not asked.

When one says to unite with this religious system of man they are weakening the differences and compromising to strengthen the least that we have in common Let’s all just work together is not a Biblical answer. Imagine Paul saying this to the philosophers on Mars Hill.

This is no more clearly seen in their Nostra Aerate, “the Declaration on the Relation of the [Roman Catholic] Church to Non-Christian Religions, which was Proclaimed by His Holiness Pope Paul VI – October 28, 1965.” The Church of Rome states:

The [Roman Catholic] Church regards with esteem also the MoslemsThey adore the one God, living and subsisting in Himself; merciful and all- powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth,(5) who has spoken to men; they take pains to submit wholeheartedly to even His inscrutable decrees, just as Abraham, with whom the faith of Islam takes pleasure in linking itselfsubmitted to God. Though they do not acknowledge Jesus as God, they revere Him as a prophet. They also honor Mary, His virgin Mother; at times they even call on her with devotion. In addition, they await the day of judgment when God will render their deserts to all those who have been raised up from the dead. Finally, they value the moral life and worship God especially through prayer, almsgiving and fasting.

Isn’t Jesus the One God, whom the Muslims deny as the Son of God? Not to be concerned, as long as they honor Mary, that’s sufficient for unity.

The Roman church further states:

"The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.“ (Catechism of the Catholic Church,Para. 841 Hereafter Catechism 5..)

Near the last page in a new “Evangelii Gaudium,” an apostolic exhortation. Pope Francis states, “Our relationship with the followers of Islam has taken on great importance, since they are now significantly present in many traditionally Christian countries, where they can freely worship and become fully a part of society…We must never forget that they ‘profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, who will judge humanity on the last day.’”

So he is saying they are in unity. Francis the now Pope, also said to the Muslims “I then greet and cordially thank you all, dear friends belonging to other religious traditions; first of all the Muslims, who worship the one God, living and merciful, and call upon Him in prayer, and all of you. I really appreciate your presence: in it I see a tangible sign of the will to grow in mutual esteem and cooperation for the common good of humanity.” (Pope's Address to Representatives of the Churches, Ecclesial Communities and Other Religions Vatican City, March 20, 2013 )

Pope Benedict XVI visited the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. Benedict is only the second pope in history to set foot in a Muslim house of worship (after John Paul II did and kissed the Koran). Pope Benedict XVI turned toward Mecca and said “Let us pray for brotherhood and for all humanity,” in Italian.

More recently Pope Francis took off his shoes to enter the Dome of the Rock, from where Islamic tradition says the Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven. (source)

Pope Francis urged his “brother” Muslims to never abuse God’s name through violence as he opened the third and final day of his Mideast pilgrimage with a visit to the Dome of the Rock”

Is the Christian God’s name now Allah? This Pope thinks so. After all Rome states they all worship the same God.

Their continual increase in ecumenism and the decline of the Bible has been taking place since

Pope John Paul II organized the first World Day of Prayer for Peace in Assisi, Italy, on October 27, 1986. Where were 160 religious leaders from all the different religions attended. Buddhist monks, the Dalai lama (that claims to be a god), Islamic muftis (that deny Jesus Christ as the Son of God). shintoists, Jainists, Animists, voodoo practioners, Witch Doctors, Shamans, Greek orthodox, Rabbis and Protestants; compromising Christians.

The Pope embraced them all as worshippers of God. And prayed with the representatives of these religions for peace which the bible teaches can only come by Jesus Christ – first, through the gospel, peace in our heart. Second, when He returns to vanquish evil and set up his kingdom on earth. No man by himself or together with other men can make this kind of peace.

The pope said in his speech

“For the first time in history, we have a coming together from everywhere, Christian Churches and World Religions, in a place dedicated to Saint Francis, to witness before the world, each according to his own conviction, about the transcendent quality of peace.

The form and content of our prayers are very different, as we have seen, and there can be no question of reducing them to a kind of common denominator.

He thanked them for having accepted his invitation to come here for this act of witness before the world.

And above all I thank God, the God and Father of Jesus Christ, for this day of grace for the world, for each of you, and for myself. He then says he did this in the words attributed to Saint Francis:

Really, how was it a day of grace? Was the gospel presented to them that gathered? Did anyone convert to the true God? No. And the gospel is still is not presented in their ecumenical gatherings.

Pope Francis For the first time in history allowed Islamic readings from the Quran and prayer to Allah at the Vatican as Pope Francis tries to usher in peace between Israel and the Palestinians. This has all been the plan since Pope John Paul II had declared that, “Christians must work with [all] other religions to secure peace.” He has pledged that “the Catholic Church intends to `share in and promote' such ecumenical and inter-religious cooperation.” The Catholic Church holds an ongoing dialogue with representatives of many religions no matter who the Pope is.

Speaking in October at Lausanne III: Congress on World Evangelization, the head of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) called for a new era in Evangelical/Catholic relations. Addressing his comments to “Pope Francis and distinguished representatives of the Roman Catholic Church,” Geoff Tunnicliffe who represents a variety of Christians said: “... As we seek to obey Christ, we see this time as a new era in Evangelical/Roman Catholic relations. ... The World Evangelical Alliance, its senior leadership and staff are eager and committed to building collaboration with organizations and institutions of the Roman Catholic Church at all levels. We do this out of obedience to the Gospel and as a concrete response to Jesus’ prayer that through our witness the world will see our mutual love, and through our love, the world will see Jesus” (WORLD EVANGELICAL ALLIANCE CALLS ON THE POPE FOR A NEW ERA IN EVANGELICAL/CATHOLIC RELATIONS (“To Pope Francis: A New Era,” The Christian Post, Nov. 6, 2014).

Which Jesus will they see? So now the fruit of Duplessis has come to fruition. A “one-world church” is being matured with a false Christianity and is called obedience to the Gospel!

Amazing how topsy turvy these men are.

Osteen told the Houston Chronicle “I like the fact that this pope is trying to make the church larger, not smaller. He’s not pushing people out but making the church more inclusive. That resonated with me,”

These men have become co belligerents, traitors to Christ. They are willing to sacrifice the truth that so many have died for us to have at the Catholic alters of idolatry. These men are faith offender’s not faith defenders. Many have been involved in the false revival since the early 90’s, this is their fruit, they are now willing to unite with this condemned religious system that will reach its zenith in the tribulation period.

The Christian Post reports that according to Westmont College, Francis had invited more than a dozen “North American Protestant leaders to discuss the question: “Can we find common ground in order to advance the life and ministry of Jesus so more people can experience the joy of Christian faith?”

The ecumenical meeting was a part of Pope Francis’ on-going efforts to bring unity among Christians, previously stating in public remarks, “Divisions among us, but also divisions among the communities: evangelical Christians, orthodox Christians, Catholic Christians, but why divided? We must try to bring about unity.”

As we watch the Roman popes agenda throughout modern history of accepting other religions as valid. The statement of “all roads lead to ROME” has echoed down the corridors of time to be seated among the nations and religions. Pope Francis’s call for unity with Christianity is to the nations. The time has come to “unite” every religion into one globalistic faith

If you DO know the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the message that saved you then you should know the truth from error. There is no excuse for people wanting unity with those who have no gospel.
